COLIN MUNRO HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH for his 14-ball half century. Hard luck for Guptill and more so, for Elliott, for picking up 4 wickets in a T20I and not being acknowledged. That is all we have from this big Kiwi tour by the Lankans. The hosts now get ready to receive Pakistan for a 3-T20I, 3-ODI series before the big one of the summer against Australia. Sri Lanka take a break for now as they head back home for some recuperation before the T20 World Cup in India. That is all we have for you from today. Until next time, Adios! Take Care!
Spare a thought for the Lankans. Mathews' knock would have given them some hope but Guptill's onslaught killed everything which would have been in their minds. A nightmare to end a disappointing tour. And, if Guptill was not enough, then Munro came in and enjoyed himself. Forgetful outing for the tourists.
Well, one did expect the Kiwis to win but by such a big margin? Naah... this is literally brutal bashing by the hosts. It was all set up by Guptill, who smashed 63 from 25 balls, which included the fastest T20I fifty by a Kiwi but then Colin Munro came out and clobbered 50 from just 14 balls, which is now the second fastest half century in this format behind Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball one against England in Durban.
Gone in 60 balls. NEW ZEALAND HAVE WON BY 9 WICKETS AND 60 BALLS TO SPARE. They were not chasing a target under 100. They have chased down 143 with consummate ease.

After 9 overs, New Zealand have reached 127/1. Just 16 more needed for a win now. After Guptill's exit, Sri Lanka would have hoped for some sort of a respite but Munro has just come out and smashed everything out of the park. Unfortunately, due to lack of television feed, THERE WILL BE NO COMMENTARY FOR THIS GAME. But we will keep you posted with updates.
