That is it from his game! The match ends as expected with the Kiwi's coming out on top. There are still two Tests to go in this series with the next one being played on the 8th of March in Wellington at 1100 local (2200 GMT). Till then, take care and cheers!
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson, says they knew it was not going to be easy with the ball here today. Credits how Bangladesh batted but also appreciates the effort by his bowlers, not only in this innings but throughout the Test match. Further adds, there was bounce available on the surface and they looked to exploit that. States Latham has been excellent for quite sometime now but is happy with Raval's maiden ton. Further adds he is looking forward to the Test in Wellington. Ends by saying seam on the surface was the most threatening and hence, Astle was not as effective as he could have been.
Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah, says the wicket was very good to bat on but they could not cash in, in the first innings. Credits Tamim for the way he played in the first innings. Mentions it is a learning curve for the young bowlers and consistency is what they should look out for. Appreciates their effort with the bat in the second innings. Ends by saying, he is looking forward to the second Test.
Man of the Match, Kane Williamson, says he was looking to bat long and spend some time in the middle. He mentions it was a good effort from the whole batting unit.
The second new ball changed everything though as Boult got two quickly, he ended up with a fifer. Southee then after the break picked two in the space of 5 balls to ensure the match does not head into Day 5. Stay tuned for the presentation.
It was always going to be a huge task for Bangladesh. An innings defeat was always on the cards and that is exactly what happened but not many would have expected them to make the Kiwi bowlers toil hard for their wickets. A massive 235-run stand between Sarkar and Mahmudullah frustrated the Kiwis. The two took the attacking approach and displayed some exciting batting out there. Both scored tons and when the two were batting, they surely revived hopes the Bangladeshi camp of avoiding an innings defeat.
In reply, New Zealand made use of the batting conditions to the utmost. Both the openers scored tons for them, adding 254 for the first wicket. Williamson then joined the run-fest as he notched up a double century. The Kiwis ended with their highest Test score - 715/6d which saw them take a lead of 481.
What they will be disappointed with is, the way they batted in the first innings. The conditions were ideal for the batting side to set up a big total and Tamim Iqbal with a ton, set the foundation. However, once the opener fell, no other batsman came to the fore and Bangladesh were bundled out for a below par 234. For New Zealand, Wagner was the star with the ball as he finished with a fifer.
A convincing win for the hosts in the end but Bangladesh can be proud of the way they fought in their second innings. They did not surrender and showed great character to come so close to the deficit.
A very satisfied New Zealand team walk off the field as they have taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match Test series. They have managed to wrap the innings up quickly after the Tea break with Southee taking both, Mahmudullah and Hossain in one over itself.

Tim Southee To Ebadot Hossain OUT!
OUT! There is a spike on Ultra Edge as the ball passes the bat! Hossain walks back in disbelief as he feels he has not edged it. Southee takes two in the over to end the game. He lands this one on a length and around off, it pitches and then straightens. Hossain looks to defend away from his body but he seems to have got an outside edge to the keeper. The umpire rules it in the favor of the bowler. Ebadot reviews. Hot Spot shows no mark on the bat but Ultra Edge shows a spike as the ball passes the bat. The on-field call remains and NEW ZEALAND WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 52 RUNS!
Is that the end of the Bangladesh innings? Hossain has been given out caught behind. He reviews though.
