The final will be played on Thursday, 23rd December 2021 at Hambantota and the first ball will be bowled at 7.30 pm local time (2 pm GMT). Thisara Perera, the skipper of Jaffna Kings, says that he is very happy with the way batters batted today. He adds that they were under pressure after losing the first Qualifier and the whole unit played well tonight. He mentions that he considers the final as just another game and will be looking to play well again.
Niroshan Dickwella, the skipper of Dambulla Giants, says that they backed themselves and wanted to bowl first. Tells that it was their bowling and fielding which let them down. Adds that 200 was a bit too much on this wicket and somewhere around 180-190 would have been good to chase. Mentions that in crucial situations they were not able to execute their plans.
Avishka Fernando is the Player of the Match. He says that he is pleased after getting his first T20 century. He adds that he was slightly disturbed in the last game and he executed his plans well today.

Jaffna Kings' bowlers had lots of runs to play with and they did not disappoint their batters. Their bowlers pulled things back really nicely after leaking runs at the start. It was Maheesh Theekshana who picked up a couple of wickets and conceded just 23 runs from his 4 overs. It was Jayden Seales who came to bowl in the middle overs and grabbed a couple of wickets. In the end, he finished with 3 wickets to his name and bowled good hard lengths which did not allow the batters to free their arms. Thisara Perera also managed to grab a couple but went for plenty of runs at the fag end. All in all, it wasn't the best of bowling performances from the Kings but they were able to held their nerves much better than Dambulla Giants in such a high-pressure encounter and ended up on the winning side.
Dambulla Giants had a mountain to climb in this do-or-die encounter and they never looked like chasing it down after they lost both their openers. Salt and Dickwella got them off to a flier but both of them fell in quick succession and the Giants were left in a spot of bother. After that, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Najibullah Zadran looked in good touch but he too perished while trying to up the ante. It was Chamika Karunaratne who was the lone warrior and he showed a wide range of shots. He brought up his maiden T20 fifty as well but it went in vain as the Giants fell short in the end.
A comprehensive performance from the defending champions Jaffna Kings and they storm into the final to join Galle Gladiators. They have completely outplayed Dambulla Giants in all the departments and deserve a place in the final.
