Right then! That's all from this game! It has been a comprehensive victory for Jamaica Tallawahs while Saint Lucia would need to make a comeback in their next game. There is another game coming up which is between Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals. The action will begin at 1900 local (2300 GMT). Do join us then. Cheers and take care.
Rovman Powell says he is pretty satisfied with the performance, especially after they struggled with the bat last time around but they have began really well. States Russell is a world class player so they try to keep him happy and if he is happy, he will deliver. Mentions they are trying to be the best team in the Powerplay as games can be won in the first 6. Adds they do not want to get carried away and want to continue the good work. Reckons it takes time to use to the pace of the wicket but once you get your eye in, you can then score freely.
Faf du Plessis says they did not bowl that well, their batters were really good but they did not execute their plans really well. States they needed to go hard at the start and they lost quite a few wickets in the attempt to do so. Mentions they can do better with the resources they have but the execution was not right but he hopes they can learn from this.
Andre Russell, MAN OF THE MATCH, says he went out there with a clear mind, backed himself and it came off. States the openers set the tone and then the middle order played well too, if they play like this they are unstoppable. Adds there was no pressure when they came out and if they get such starts, he can do what he did today. States it is a small ground so once you are off target. you are going to go the distance and he might go for a few runs with the ball but he hopes he can make it up with the bat.
Jamaica had the cushion of a big score on the board but with the way they bowled was brilliant and they kept on taking wickets at regular intervals. Miguel Pretorius was the star of the show as he picked up 4 wickets and he was well supported by the others. Overall a brilliant performance.
Saint Lucia never looked like chasing this down as they came out attacking but lost many wickets in the process as can happen when you are chasing a target of over 250. Only Tim David got some runs and he looked really solid out in the middle. Wahab Riaz supported him well but the target was too big.
A majestic performance from Jamaica Tallawahs as they have started their campaign with a bang. They have been brilliant and deserve this victory. Saint Lucia, on the other hand, would be disappointed with their performance but this is just their first game and they can make a comeback later.
