Usman Khawaja, the MAN OF THE MATCH AND THE ISLAMABAD SKIPPER, says that it was a beautiful day and he enjoyed batting today. Adds they missed out on a lot of players, but all the members were great with the bat today. Also says that he is taking nothing away from the bowlers as they were good with the ball as it was difficult to bowl in this pitch.
Wahab Riaz, the skipper of Peshawar, says that he is speechless. Adds that it was not a good bowling performance and adds that something was missing and it seemed that the guys were not motivated. Tells that they were playing their first day/night game and that's why they brought in a spinner but they did not stick to their plans and did not bowl according to the field.
The bowling from Islamabad was good at the start with Hasan Ali keeping it tight and Akif Javed doing a decent job with the ball but they let things slip in the middle overs as the spinners were taken apart by Peshawar. Zafar Gohar had a disappointing outing as he was taken for plenty. But they kept their cool and they did not give too many runs in the end. Good performance from Islamabad United as they have beaten Peshawar Zalmi but credit has to be given to Peshawar for giving it all. They did a very good job but fell short in the end. They did not start off too well as they lost Hazratullah Zazai first ball and Imam-ul-Haq did not do much as well. Kamran Akmal tried hard but he fell at the wrong time but that's when the comeback started as Shoaib Malik took it upon himself and him along with Sherfane Rutherford gave them hope but they both fell in quick succession. Riaz hit some lusty blows but it was not enough.
