And that brings an end to this match - and the series as well. West Indies skipper Shai Hope has been handed the trophy and joins his teammates for the celebrations and the customary photo session. With this series done, the Windies will now shift their focus to the longer format as they gear up for a three-match Test series against Australia, starting June 25th. Ireland, meanwhile, have a longer break and will return to international action in September for a three-match T20I series against their neighbours, England, beginning on the 17th. But the cricketing world never sleeps, and there’s plenty more action happening across the globe, so feel free to switch tabs and catch up with our coverage of other ongoing matches. Until next time, it’s goodbye and take care!
Shai Hope, the skipper of West Indies says that they are trying to build a strong team. Mentions that they were ninth in the ranking and have moved to three. Shares that they want to be consistent and want to keep going coming series. Says that when they get a start, they need to carry on and that is the message for all the batters. Ends by telling that it is good to see Lewis back in the runs and hope for him to keep going ahead.
Paul Stirling, the captain of Ireland says that it was a tough game but a few positives to take as well. Credits Matthew Humphreys for an incredible spell. Mentions that it was tough for the bowlers, and the message to the batters was to go out their and give it all. Says that they were trying to compare themselves with the Windies, but they took it to a different level at the death. Ends by saying that they will try to do well in the England series.
Evin Lewis is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fantastic knock. He says that it was unfortunate that the first two games did not happen but he was happy to go out in the middle and perform well. Shares that the runs mean a lot after a poor England series as he wanted to do well but didn’t happen. Ends by adding that he is grateful for the win today and loved batting with Shai Hope as he keeps things simple.
Presentation Time...
West Indies bowlers had the freedom to bowl without that much pressure as they had a lot of runs on the board. Jason Holder set the tone removing Stirling early, and despite a tough period after that, the game never got away from them. Akeal Hosein was the standout picking up three wickets while Roston Chase and Romario Shepherd  also chipped in with one each to cap off a fine performance.
Earlier in the game, West Indies piled on their second-highest total in T20Is, thanks to a blistering 91 off 44 deliveries from Evin Lewis. He was well supported by a composed half-century from Shai Hope and a fiery 49 from Keacy Carty, both of whom kept the scoreboard ticking at pace. For Ireland, Matthew Humphreys stood out with the ball, claiming two wickets while maintaining excellent control amid the onslaught. The trio of Mark Adair, Ben White, and Barry McCarthy managed to pick up a wicket each, but all three proved to be quite expensive on a tough day in the field.
Ireland got off to a flying start with Paul Stirling finding the boundary three times in the first three deliveries, but his stay was short-lived. Harry Tector and Mark Adair then joined forces to rebuild and did a fine job of keeping the chase alive, stitching together a solid 100-run stand. However, the required rate kept climbing, and the pressure to take risks eventually got the better of them, as both set batters fell in back-to-back overs. From there, Ireland struggled to regain momentum. While a few late blows added some spark, the target always felt out of reach, and the innings fizzled out well short in the end.
A commanding win for the West Indies! Their batters laid the perfect foundation with a powerful display, and the bowlers ensured there were no slip-ups in the defense. Ireland showed plenty of fight and had their moments, but the chase was always going to be a tall order in this one-off contest.
