So, that's it from this game. The Black Caps have started this Tri-Nation series on a winning note. Now, they play Bangladesh in their next game which takes place on 17th May, 2017 at 1045 local (0945 GMT) at Dublin. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Take care! Cheers!
MITCHELL SANTNER has been awarded the Man Of The Match for his brilliant bowling performance. He picked 5 wickets and gave away 50 runs in his allotted 10 overs. This is also his best figures in ODIs
It seemed like New Zealand would run away with the game but Niall O'Brien stood like a wall. He along with Gary Wilson added 75 runs for the fifth wicket. The latter then departed but the former carried on and completed his maiden ODI ton. He though was fighting a lone battle as he kept running out of partners. Scott Kuggeleijn was brilliant on his debut and picked up a 3-fer whereas it was Mitchell Santner who won the game for his side with an exceptional last spell and completing a fifer.
New Zealand hold their nerves to start this Tri-Nation series with a win. The two debutants for them, Seth Rance and Scott Kuggeleijn started off brilliantly and landed some early blows to the hosts. After that there was a slight rain delay but Niall O'Brien and Andy Balbirnie looked in a great touch. They got things back on track for Ireland with an 86-run stand. The Kiwis then got a couple of quick wickets to get the upper hand on the game.

Mitchell Santner To Niall O'Brien OUT!
OUT! The big wicket! Santner has delivered the goods for his captain. Niall O'Brien steps out and goes to hit it over long on but misses it completely. Ronchi behind the stumps collects the ball and whips off the bails. Great bowling this, from Santner. A very good innings by Niall O'Brien comes to an end. He is disappointed that he couldn't win the game for his team. Is this over for Ireland now? Or there's some more twist in tale?
