CPL takes a break on Friday, but we shall be back with the action on Saturday. The Knight Riders play again, this time in the morning, against the Barbados Tridents, at 10 am local (1400 GMT). In the evening, at 5.30 pm local, Jamaica Tallawahs square up with the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Join us then. Before that, do follow international action as the England-Pakistan T20I is set to be played on Friday. The action continues. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
That ends all the action from the Thursday double-header. In case you missed it, the Zouks handed the Patriots a thrashing in the morning game and in the evening, the Knight Riders cruised home to chase down a moderate target against the Warriors. TKR move to 10 points, almost certain to make it to the knockouts. Warriors stay fourth, but there is nothing much to differentiate between teams placed 3-6.
Victorious Trinbago Knight Riders captain, Kieron Pollard, is happy with another win. Points to the improvement in not letting the opposition fly off in the Powerplay. Is mighty pleased with a left-arm spinner dismissing three left-handed batsmen (Khary Pierre dismissed Chandrapaul Hemraj, Nicholas Pooran and Sherfane Rutherford). Feels it will do his confidence a world of good as he will believe that he can get left-handers out. On the drive and want to keep winning, Pollard says that T20 is all about momentum and the players just take each game as it comes. If you win, you win. If you lose, you lose. But the team tries to win by giving 100 percent every time.
Guyana Amazon Warriors skipper, Chris Green, smiles on not being able to play in front of one's home crowd but adds that every team has that issue. Thanks everyone who could get this tournament going and also the fans who are cheering them on social media. On the game, Green says that the pitch is difficult for batting against spinners and rues the run out of Ross Taylor which changed the game. Is happy with the fight shown by the lower order with the bat and also his bowlers. On leaving out Ashmead Nedd and bringing in Romario Shepherd, Chris says that they didn't feel left-arm spin would work well against the Knight Riders. Also adds that they felt Romario Shepherd would do well with the ball and his batting would be useful at the back end of the innings.
KHARY PIERRE HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Pierre thanks the almighty for helping him do well in this game. On his bowling, he says that he stuck to a simple gameplan of bowling wicket-to-wicket and it helped. Does not feel too insignificant amongst world-class players and is happy to be a part of a big TKR family. On Guyana, he knows they are a big team, hence, says that he did not try too much with the ball against them.
Here comes the presentation...
Earlier, the Knight Riders bowled well, led by Khary Pierre, whose 3-fer pegged the Warriors back. He got good support from Fawad Ahmed as Guyana once again, could not bat well.
Chris Green tried everything. He rotated his bowlers, got the game to a point where the Knight Riders felt choked but the pair of Bravo and Seifert played it to perfection. Defended early on, bided their time and then attacked. Green and Tahir bowled well but they got only 3 wickets. Wickets are the key in defending a low total but those didn't come.
It was a different kind of a batting display from the Knight Riders in this game. They understood the conditions, did not throw their wickets away and got off to a decent start. Then they lost two in quick succession but Darren Bravo and Tim Seifert staged a responsible partnership to take their side through.
5 in 5 for the Knight Riders. 2 of those have come without Sunil Narine. 1 with Ali Khan bowling just 1 over. They are getting better and better with every game, looking more and more clinical.

Naveen-ul-Haq To Darren Bravo
Fantastic effort but could that have been taken? Shimron Hetmyer is on the ground. A full toss, on middle and leg, Bravo swings it high into the night sky, over long on. However, he is not quite able to get enough power on it. Hetmyer at long on, steadies himself, takes the catch but the momentum takes him behind. He releases the ball in the nick of time, but the throw is weak. Hence, Chris Green, in spite of covering good ground to his right from deep mid-wicket, getting close to Hetmyer, cannot collect the catch. He returns the throw after the ball lands. A single taken.
Naveen-ul-Haq returns. 2-0-9-0 so far.
