Plenty of positives for the women's cricket in India, despite this loss. Priceless, valuable experience to take back home and they've shown the world what they're capable of as well. Right, then. This is where we say goodbye. We hope all of you had a good time and enjoyed this coverage of ours. Like they say - the end of one thing, the beginning of another. There will be plenty more matches to come, see you soon. Cheers!
Even in the face of defeat, they always had that belief, which is why England are deserving winners this evening at Lord's. You don't become champions for the fourth time just by dumb luck, it's their quality and their skills and their determination that has got them here. Can take every joy in lifting that trophy and we're all sure there are plenty of celebrations going deep into the night.
England captain, Heather Knight praises her girls for being outstanding. Adds that all the hard work they did and tight games they won in the last 18 months came in handy today. Credits India for having a brilliant tournament. Feels her teammates held their nerves when the partnerships were going on. Thanks everyone for the support. Adds that women's cricket is growing from strength to strength and all the teams showed that. Believes that England was the best place to host the tournament.
India captain, Mithali Raj says she is proud of her team but credits England for keeping their nerve. Reckons the match was hanging in the balance and the occasion probably got to them. States she is really proud of her girls for putting in such a performance and making it difficult for every opposition they faced. When asked about Jhulan Goswami, exclaims she is an experienced bowler and has delivered whenever required, but says she also kept in mind that England bat deep and are not to be taken lightly. On what was the reason for their loss today, replies that most of the players are young and don't have experience with such things, but this experience will help them in the future. On this being her last World Cup, informs she will play for another couple of years, but this is her last World Cup. Adds that Goswami has done her part for the country and women's cricket in India. Ends by saying that she hopes this changes things and women's cricket is viewed in a different light now.
Player of the Tournament, Tammy Beaumont is all smiles and is thrilled with this victory. Praises all the girls for stepping up in the tournament. Adds that the plan was to see off the early phase as they thought the pitch will do something in the morning. Admits that the middle order collapse didn't help their cause but Gunn and Brunt added useful runs. Further praises all the bowlers. Credits Kaur and Raut for an exceptional partnership but says that she was never in doubt of defending the total in her head. Also adds that it's a great feeling to be playing at Lord's.
Player of the Match, Anya Shrubsole says she can't believe they've won and is lost for words. States it was an amazing team performance to stick in there and find a way to win the game, which is unbelievable. Further states it was important they got everything right, with so much at stake in a World Cup final, so is happy that they ended up on the right side. When asked about the crowd here at Lord's, lets everybody know that the support has been absolutely amazing and mentions that she's never been in a game where the crowd is so loud that you can't hear the player next to you. On what they learned from their tournament opener defeat to India, replies what this team has shown is a huge amount of fight and that's what helped them win the World Cup in the end.
Mark Robinson (coach) feels it was all about picking one wicket when the partnership (Raut-Kaur) was going on. Feels that they were in the game as the slow bowlers were hard to get away. Adds that it was a great atmosphere today and he really enjoyed every minute and is happy to come out on the right side.
Sarah Taylor is very proud of her teammates. She says that personally it's been a roller-coaster year for her (due to injuries). Jenny Gunn who missed the final in 2009 due to an injury is ecstatic after today's win. Considers this as one of the best teams she has played with. Sarah Taylor praises India for playing exceptionally well and feels they will bounce back in future. A word of praise for skipper Heather Knight and Sarah Taylor terms her a calm character.
Lauren Winfield says that they kept on backing each other in spite of the partnerships. Laura Marsh feels every run was important and they just stuck in there. Laughs and says it sounds amazing to be called - World Champions!
Anya Shrubsole is lost for words after a tremendous performance. Feels it's the fitting finale. Says that they never lost hope and knew a couple of wickets will bring them back in the match. She adds that it's a childhood dream come true for her.
Alex Hartley is thrilled after the win and says that this is what they work hard for. Calls Anya Shrubsole the hero! Fran Wilson praises the character of her teammates and terms Anya Shrubsole's performance as amazing.
But, that's not all where the credit lies. Earlier in the day, fighting knocks from Taylor and Sciver, along with some handy runs from the English middle order saw that there was a challenging score in front of the Women in Blue, something which their bowlers were ultimately able to defend. A collective performance, the way it should be.
Credit must be given to the English women. Despite being second best for a large chunk of the game, they never gave up and kept on fighting. Anya Shrubsole being their lead attacker, with a 6-fer in the final. What a champion! Alex Hartley chipped in with 2 of her own and there were two run outs enforced. A truly amazing, character-filled performance. You'd expect nothing else from the now 4-time world champions.
It seemed like India would take the game after being in control for so long, but their half century stand was broken when Raut was caught leg before. And this is where the game turned on its head. The Indians completely lost the plot from this point on. What we witnessed was a colossal collapse. From 191/3, India got all out for 219 - 28 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Maybe the pressure got to them and they crumbled under that.
After setting a target of 229 in front of India, England started taking a couple of relatively early wickets. But then Raut and Kaur took the situation in their stride and steadied the ship at first. Kept the scoreboard ticking and made their respective fifties in the process of making a 95-run stand. The latter departed but Raut carried on with Krishnamurthy, who took the attack to the opposition.
ENGLAND ARE THE CHAMPIONS FOR THE FOURTH TIME! Emotions running high on the field as the English players are jumping in joy and hugging each other. The crowd has gone bonkers. What a final! But we must applaud India for the way they fought. Sad faces all around in their camp, tears rolling down but they should be proud of themselves. A match worthy of the finals, went right down to the wire where England held their nerves better than the Indian team.

Anya Shrubsole To Rajeshwari Gayakwad OUT!
OUT! ENGLAND ARE THE 2017 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS! What a moment for them, their unbeaten finals' record at home remains intact, three in a row now and their fourth title overall. Fittingly, it's Shrubsole who finishes things off for the home side. A very full ball attacking the stumps, Gayakwad cannot keep it out as she is slow to bring her bat down. The woodwork is shattered and that seals the deal. Screams of delight among the fielding side players and their support staff. ENGLAND WIN BY 9 RUNS!

Anya Shrubsole To Poonam Yadav
DROPPED BY GUNN! That was almost the Cup, right there. That's a sitter but she has put it down. Fuller ball outside off, Poonam looks to go big down the ground but doesn't get the elevation. It goes to Gunn who spills a dolly at mid off.

Full and outside off, jammed out towards cover. Good shot but cannot find the gap.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad is the last batsman for India.

Anya Shrubsole To Deepti Sharma OUT!
OUT! GONE! IS THAT THE GAME? England certainly believe so and it's a 5-fer for Shrubsole. Slower ball outside off, Deepti is early into the chip shot and mistimes it horribly. The short mid-wicket fielder Sciver backtracks to her right to take the catch easily. JUST ONE WICKET NEEDED FOR ENGLAND NOW, 11 RUNS NEEDED OFF 11 BALLS.

Fuller and outside off, leans forward and drives to mid off.
Poonam Yadav is the next batter in. What a moment to walk in. Will she play a part in her team winning the World Cup?

Jenny Gunn To Shikha Pandey OUT!
OUT! SUICIDAL RUN AND GONE! India are digging a hole for themselves here. Shortish and outside off, cut towards point and she wanted a single but the partner was never interested. Too late for Shikha to return as the throw at the keeper's end is accurate from Shrubsole. Taylor does the rest and Pandey is well short. 11 OFF 15 NEEDED NOW.

This is good from the Indians. The singles are coming and they can actually afford to do it in ones.

Jenny Gunn To Shikha Pandey
Slower ball outside off, Pandey waits for it and dabs gently to short third man as the batsmen sneak a single. Back to Deepti now.
Jenny Gunn back on. 14 needed from 18. Can she get a wicket here? Or will the rain pouring down hard now come in the way of that?
