So that is it from this series. Some called it overrated at the start but the oldest rivalry in Test cricket lived up to its billing. Though Australia retained the Ashes they could not take the series trophy home. The Aussies now go back to their homes before they welcome Sri Lanka for the T20Is starting 27th October. England's stay at home comes to an end as they fly to New Zealand for their next assignment. They too begin their tour with a T20I series starting November 1st. It was a great pleasure bringing you the coverage of this mouthwatering series. Hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. Join us again as more cricket comes your way. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Both captains now go to collect the trophy. The Australian players then gather in the podium all in smiles as they retain the Ashes urn.
Australian skipper, Tim Paine is now up for a conversation. Paine admits that he has a couple of regrets about this Test starting with the toss. Credits his bowlers for their performance. Laughs and says he is always 50-50 during the toss as he cannot read pitches. On the series being drawn, Paine admits that this game dampens that but he is still happy and says they are satisfied with retaining the urn as it has not happened for almost 20 years. Tim says that it is a competitive game especially Tests between England and Australia. Credits Wade for his innings and tells it was a great knock. Tim admits that he is enjoying to lead this side and he feels that there is still some unfinished business with this side. Paine tells they spoke about doing something that had not been done for a while and they wanted to enjoy the reception from the Barmy Army and not succumb under it.
England's skipper, Joe Root is up next for a chat. Root tells that he thought they were excellent throughout this Test and credits his bowlers for the way they bowled on this wicket. On Jofra, he says he was good and ably backed by other talented bowlers. Root thinks they have shown great character. Credits Tim Paine and his side for the way they played. Root admits that it was tough to play against Australia on difficult pitches especially against the quality attack. Thanks Trevor Bayliss for improving England cricket in all formats and for his effort. On Stokes and Bayliss' relation, Root says that players build up a relation over a period of time and thinks what Stokes and Bayliss have is really special. Root is confident that they can challenge Australia in couple of years time in their own backyard and feels that he has the squad to do that. Root ends by saying that he feels blessed for the players he has and thinks the World Cup was a remarkable moment.
Australia's Player of the Series and the Player of the Series of Ashes 2019 is Steven Smith. Smith says that walking back to an ovation meant a lot. Tells that the cricket has been fantastic and he has loved every minute in England starting from the World Cup. Steven tells they believed they could chase down the total in this game and adds Wade showed if they took the challenge they could have got it. Credits England for playing good cricket in this game and series. Tells he saw Jofra last year and he knew he was a talent straightaway as he could bowl at 90mph with his height. Smith thinks that Archer has a bright future. Smith tells every moment is a learning moment and he hopes to continue to improve himself.
England's Player of the Series is Ben Stokes. Ben says that 2-2 sounds better than 3-1. Admits that they were unlucky in Manchester but he is happy with the game here. Stokes tells it has been a great series for cricket and thinks it showed in the final result. Adds that it was an evenly poised contest and feels the result is a fair one. Smiles and says that he would give his knock from Headingley away if it mean that he could have had the Ashes. Stokes feels everyone who has come in has shown good confidence and talent. Singles out Rory Burns and credits him for knocking on the door and grabbing his opportunity.
Jofra Archer is named the Man of the Match for his brilliant 6-fer in the first innings. Jofra says that it has been an incredible summer since the time he wore the England jersey. On his best moments, Archer says he is leaning towards the Tests but tells it is a different feeling to the World Cup final. Smiles and says he is not sure whether he has taken to Test cricket easily as one day one can get wicket and be wicketless the other. Stresses that there are good days and bad days and he hopes his teammates can help him on his bad days. Admits playing all formats is difficult but credits the support staff for their work. Smiles and says that maybe Wade was a bit grumpy as the pitch was not an easy one to bat on.
We are ready for the presentation. The match referee, Javagal Srinath and the umpires come up to collect their medals.
Predicto Praky - 'Psst psst...do you think Australia can win this? Just 174 needed...' @PP - Sometimes it is nice to be on another planet.
So Australia take back the urn but their wait for a Test series win in England continues. England, on the other hand, failed to make this the best summer as they failed to regain the Ashes and build on that emphatic World Cup. Stay tuned for the presentation.
Apart from the toss, England dominated this Test in all departments. They built on their 69-run lead from the first innings and added further 329 runs to that, courtesy of brilliant 94 and 67 from Denly and Stokes respectively. Jofra Archer was the star with the ball in the first innings for England with a terrific 6-fer.
Nothing much to talk about in terms of the Australian batting. Once again there was just one batsman batting like a star and the others faltering around him. This time that star was not the brilliant best, Steven Smith, it was Matthew Wade. It was his gritty century that gave some respectability to the margin of this loss.
Brilliant bowling display from the English bowlers has seen them draw the series. Broad and Leach were the stars with the ball on the day. Picking up 4 wickets apiece. Skipper, Joe Root was the other bowler in the wickets column with 2 to his name. Though Archer and Woakes were wicketless they were very good with the ball, especially Archer.
England level the series but Australia walk back with the urn. A series which had everything in it barring a series winner and rightfully so as both sides were equally good and bad. Handshakes all around.

Jack Leach To Josh Hazlewood OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! Leach has dismissed Hazlewood and ENGLAND HAVE WON THE MATCH TO DRAW THE ASHES 2-2! Leach floats this on the middle and leg pole, Hazlewood goes for the drive towards mid on but does so uppishly. Root at mid-wicket dives low to his left and catches this one brilliantly. The dream for Australia to win their first Test series remains unfulfilled as they have been bowled out and ENGLAND WIN THE MATCH BY 135 RUNS!
Josh Hazlewood is the last man in for the visitors. Looks like a matter of time before England claim the victory now.

W
Jack Leach To Nathan Lyon OUT!
OUT! Leach providing the finishing touches and Lyon is out of here! Nothing too extraordinary about the delivery or the shot, but very good field positioning by Root. Floated on middle and off, Lyon goes for the sweep but does so a touch uppishly. It goes straight to Joe Root at square leg who doesn't have to move himself an inch as he collects the catch low between his legs. Australia 9 down now and England one wicket away from drawing the series.

Joe Root To Matthew Wade OUT!
OUT! The skipper strikes and it is the big fish! England now in touching distance of victory and Wade is out of here with just the tailenders remaining now. Root floats up this one on off, it pitches and spins away. Wade comes dancing down the track in an attempt to negate the spin but misses the ball. Bairstow collects it and whips the bails off in a flash. Wade has to take the long walk back but goes off to a standing ovation. England need two more wickets to win now.
