That is it from this game and the series. England Women have flexed their muscle and won the multi-format series 10-6 grabbing both the white ball series'. India Women showed fight and gave England a run for their money but they will learn from this and look to improve. We hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. We shall see you soon. Till then, goodbye and take care!
England captain, Heather Knight, says they spoke about it and tells that they wanted to take responsibility and is happy with the win. Knight credits Wyatt and says that she is happy for her as it was tough for her to not be selected in the ODI squad. Knight says that it was brilliant to have the Test match as it has a lot of battles. Tells the team will take a lot from it. Knight says India played well and put them under pressure. Say she is pleased with how the girls stuck with the bubble. Knight says that they want to keep building for the World Cup and says they are looking to build a side where individuals are pushing each other.
Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur is caught for a chat. She says that they are happy to play in England and are happy with the way they got support from the crowds. Adds that they could have added more 15-20 runs but that didn't happen. Mentions that someone has to take the responsibility to bat deep but that didn't happen. Hopes that it will come soon. Praises Richa and Shafali and hopes that they continue to perform like that. Finally says that it was nice to play the multi-format series.
Natalie Sciver is named the Player of the Series. Sciver says that it was really important for them to perform and win as they wanted to win the multi-format series. Credits Danni Wyatt for the way she batted. Sciver says bowling up top is tricky. She feels when the ball swings it is important to make the most of it as it is a batters game and when it does not swing they go after it. Sciver says that she would like to play a bit more as she played in the first T20I and she says she is looking to improve her hitting with the bat. Sciver says she started as a bowler who can bowl but she has always looked to become a top all-rounder.
For her brilliant knock with the bat, Danni Wyatt is named the Player of the Match. She says that it was her night and is pleased with her performance. Adds that the pitch was a bit skiddy and the ball came on nicely. Mentions that there is always pressure but she tries to enjoy and bat well. Further adds that she just tries to score as many runs as she can fr the team. Goes onto say that she enjoys batting with Sciver.
Earlier in the day, Harmanpreeet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. They did not get off to a good start but Mandhana's 70 and Harmanpreet 36 along with Richa Ghosh's 20 helped India reach 152. That though was not good enough as the visitors needed more contributors. Sophie Ecclestone and Katherine Brunt were the pick of the bowlers.
A tough evening for the Indian Women bowlers. They started off well but once England settled they just looked out of ideas. Losing Arundhati Reddy did not help their cause either. Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana were amongst the wickets but the latter was expensive. In the bowler's defends, the visitors were 15-20 runs short on this surface and the dew did not help their cause either.
Chasing 154 on a good-looking track to bat on, the hosts started off slowly and lost Tammy Beaumont early. That though was just the calm before the storm. Danni Wyatt took charge of the chase. Her 89 along with a very well second fiddle role from Natalie Sciver. The pair added 112 for the second wicket. Natalie Sciver could not see her side home but Wyatt ensured to see them over the line along with the skipper.
An excellent chase from England Woman and they have sealed the T20I series and the multi-format series too. India Women will be disappointed with how things panned out in this game but they have a lot of positives to take from this tour.
