Right then, that will be it from us for this contest. We hope you enjoyed the coverage. The second contest of the day between the India Champions and the South Africa Champions gets underway at 3.30 pm GMT from the same venue. Switch your tabs and follow all the action. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Chris Gayle, the skipper of West Indies Champions, says the fast bowlers did a brilliant job, and kudos to Chadwick Walton, who did a brilliant job with the bat.  Adds that he was expecting to aim around 200, but says cricket is a funny game, and England Champions came back very well in the backend to keep them to around 160. Mentions that they deserved the win and they needed two points. Closes by adding that they will come back tomorrow against Australia and hopes to pick up another two points, as they know the conditions now and what to expect.
England Champions skipper, Eoin Morgan, says they did well to get close at the end, but they did not find boundaries in the middle overs. Shares that they were good with the ball to come back strong. Adds that there are a lot of positives, and it got closer than the way they thought. Mentions that losing early wickets in the powerplay got the opposition ahead in the game. Lauds Fidel Edwards and Sheldon Cottrell, who got the ball to move and pegged them back. Credits Ravi Bopara and Samit Patel, who tried hard but left a little too much at the end. Closes by adding that they have two big games and hopes for a turnaround.
Chadwick Walton is the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock. He says that T20 is a batter’s game but lauds Fidel Edwards for his bowling today. Adds that the total was a bit short and he is pleased with the win. Shares that they got the momentum with the win and will help them in the backend of the competition.
Presentation time...
Earlier in the day, the West Indies Champions posted a competitive 164/9 after electing to bat first. Chadwick Walton starred with a superb 83, anchoring the innings while Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle made handy contributions. However, a late-innings collapse triggered by Ajmal Shahzad and Stuart Meaker, who shared seven wickets between them, prevented the Men in Maroon from finishing with a flourish. Despite the hiccup, the total proved more than enough, as the West Indies bowlers ensured the England Champions never got going. With this win, the West Indies Champions secured vital points, while England Champions remain winless and under pressure to bounce back.
The West Indies Champions registered a convincing victory, thanks to a sensational spell from Fidel Edwards, who ripped through the England Champions’ batting lineup with figures of 4 for 11. His fiery opening burst left the opposition reeling and set the tone for a comprehensive win. Shannon Gabriel, Dwayne Bravo, and Sulieman Benn also chipped in with wickets to ensure there was no way back for the England side.
The West Indies Champions have clinched their first victory of the tournament with a spirited defense of their total of 164. Chasing 165, the England Champions stumbled early, collapsing to 19 for 4 within the first five overs. Ravi Bopara (24) and Samit Patel (52) fought back with determined innings, attempting to steady the chase. However, both were dismissed at crucial moments, allowing the pressure to build once again. Despite a late surge from Liam Plunkett, who swung hard in the lower order, the England Champions ultimately fell short by 10 runs.
