After a brilliant show by Bangladesh today, the Asia Cup will be having a clash of the Men in Blue and UAE tomorrow. Maybe another win for India or UAE can upset them? We look forward to your company at 1900 IST. Until then, goodbye and take care!
MASHRAFE MORTAZA (Bangladesh captain) confirms it is a big win. Adds that he told his boys not to take any pressure and enjoy out there. Says there are many more matches to come like that. Declares that they will play their heart out in the final and look to perform well. Thinks that Sarkar is back in some form and others did well too. Ends by saying he is thankful to the crowd for it's support and wants to keep doing well.
SOUMYA SARKAR is the Man Of The Match. His interview is not taken.
SHAHID AFRIDI (Pakistan captain) congratulates the two teams for entering the final. Adds his side made the same mistakes by not batting up to the mark. Confirms that they have to do something special and if they can't do it then Pakistan don't deserve to be there (in WC). Mentions that they keep backing up their players to get the good result. Ends by saying that last game is a must to win for them to lift up their morale.
A perfect finish to what has been a high voltage contest. Who knew that the hosts, after losing their opening match against India will bounce back against the likes of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and UAE to take the honors alongside the Men in Blue? Surprise, surprise! That relatively makes the final two T20I ties of the Asia Cup dead rubbers. Next up, presentation.
Towards the end, a flurry of wickets took an interesting turn of events and it looked like Pakistan will sail through the hurricane. It was captain Mortaza and Mahmudullah who kept their cool to take their team home. At the end, it was the 19th over by Sami'swhich cost them the match. He went for 15 runs and bowled a couple of no balls as well. Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Irfan bowled their hearts out but it was just not enough on this night.
After being asked to chase down 130, Bangladesh went after it from ball one. They kept playing freely and were eyeing the target. Pakistan picked up early wickets but Soumya Sarkar showed great character and resistance to keep the hosts alive in the contest. The middle order didn't fire this time.
The Bangladeshi players are out in the middle and are celebrating wildly. Some of their t-shirts read, "BEST IS YET TO COME" - A warning for India surely! What a show by the dark horses to play under pressure and knock out the Pakistani team. This win today takes them into the Asia Cup final alongside the Men in blue.
