And that's a wrap! Bangladesh have emerged victorious, clinching the series 2-1. Litton Das is now making his way to collect the trophy, joining his teammates for a well-deserved photo session. That's all from us for this series. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and analysis. For more cricketing action from around the world, like the New Zealand and West Indies Test series, India versus South Africa ODI series, or the ILT20 2025-26, which is starting today in a short while, feel free to switch tabs and stay tuned. Thank you for watching, and cheers!
Bangladesh's victorious skipper, Litton Das, says that the boys played really well. Continues that the bowlers did a very good job, especially in the middle overs. Adds that Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain were their main bowlers, and it's because of them, the team was able to restrict the opposition to a below-par total. Mentions that whoever plays in the BPL, if they play their best cricket, it will help the international side immensely. Ends up by thanking the Chattogram crowd for filling up the stadium and showing support, even though they could not deliver against the West Indies. He asks them to always support like this because the players also enjoy playing on this ground.
Mahedi Hasan is the Player of the Series for his 4 wickets in 2 games and for being very economical. He says that he is trying his best to contribute. Adds that he didn't start well in the last game or this game, but came back well in the middle overs, which is important in this format. Mentions that he didn't play the first game, where there was a lot of dew and as this was a day game, there was no dew and he tried to use his variations. Says that as a finger spinner, it is difficult for him, but he works hard to improve his skills every game.
Tanzid Hasan is the Player of the Match for his exemplary batting performance and 5 catches on the field. He starts by thanking the Almighty. Continues that he is feeling happy as he took five catches and batted well. Also says that he and his teammates enjoyed it a lot. He ends up by saying that he was just trying to middle the deliveries while batting, and when Emon came, they decided to finish off the match together.
Paul Stirling, skipper of Ireland, says that it felt like they just ran out of steam. Adds that they started well, but from overs 6 to 12, they just couldn't get enough runs and kept losing wickets. Mentions that plenty of positives to take, but also a few areas to improve. Ends by saying that they really enjoyed their stay here in Bangladesh.
Time for the Presentation Ceremony...
Earlier in the inning, after winning the toss and selecting to bat first, Ireland began their innings strongly, with Paul Stirling setting the pace at 50/1 in just five overs. However, the momentum soon waned as wickets fell consistently. Despite Stirling’s efforts to anchor the innings, he was eventually dismissed for 38 off 27 balls, the top score. Bangladesh's bowlers initially struggled but found their rhythm with Shoriful Islam taking an early wicket. The game changed when Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Harry Tector in the final over of the Powerplay. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman excelled as they claimed three wickets each. With seven batters scoring in single figures, Ireland stumbled to a total of just 117.
Following the Powerplay, Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan took charge of the innings, skillfully rotating the strike and adding a few boundaries to their tally. When the drinks break was called at the midway point, Bangladesh found themselves in a strong position, requiring just 39 runs off 60 deliveries. From that point on, it was simply a question of how quickly these two batters could seal the victory. The bowlers of Ireland didn't really have many runs on the board to defend. Yes, if they kept the pressure on the batters in the Powerplay, things might turn differently, but Harry Tector and Craig Young stand out among the six bowlers who got a wicket each.
The Bangladesh openers launched into the second innings with an electrifying start. Their primary objective was to make the most of the Powerplay, and they accomplished it brilliantly. Although they faced setbacks with the loss of Saif and skipper Litton, they still amassed an impressive 48 runs by the end of the Powerplay.
THE COMEBACK IS COMPLETE! Bangladesh lost their first match of the series, but Litton Das and his company made sure to win two back-to-back matches to get their hands on the glory. Well, in this match, the credit goes to the bowling unit. It's because of them, they were able to bowl out Ireland for 117, and the batters did the rest of the job to win it by 8 wickets with 38 balls to spare.
