WT20Is done, WODI action awaits - Right then, that is it from this entertaining contest, where India Women sealed the series and took a 4-2 lead on points into the ODI leg. The first game will be played on 24th January, Tuesday, at Allan Border Field in Brisbane. It will begin at 3.50 am GMT (9.20 am IST), and as you know, you can join us early for all the build-up to the match. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
It was a complete team effort - Harmanpreet Kaur, the victorious skipper of India Women, says that it was a complete team effort and it means a lot to see everyone stepping up. Feels that every partnership was crucial and lauds the way Smriti and Jemimah batted. Kaur mentions that the plans with the ball were very simple and they were clear that it was about taking wickets against a side that bats so deep. Ends by thanking the fans who came to the ground and cheered for them
Time to work hard and come back stronger - Sophie Molineux, the captain of  Australia Women, says that they thought they could have chased the target as it was a good wicket to bat, but she feels like they lost some wickets in wrong time. About Ellyse Perry, she says that she is an exceptional player and she wishes that she continue growing her appearances in the future. Ends up saying that they didn't quite get the result, but they will work hard and try to win the ODI series.
Time to hear from the captains now.
Women in Blue finish clinically - India were under pressure early with Renuka leaking runs in the first over, but the inclusion of Shreyanka Patil proved a masterstroke as she removed Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry to shift the momentum. Renuka bounced back with a wicket of her own, and from there India kept things tight despite a brief scare from Ashleigh Gardner. A stunning catch from Jemimah Rodrigues to dismiss Gardner and Harris' hit-wicket dismissal sealed the contest, with Patil and Charani sharing six wickets to wrap up a memorable win for the Women in Blue.
Mandhana and Jemimah lay the platform - Earlier in the game, India Women put up a competitive total but, given their flying start, would have wanted a few more. Smriti Mandhana led the charge with a classy 82 off 55, adding 121 with Jemimah Rodrigues, who struck a half-century but found boundaries hard to come by. Richa Ghosh added a brisk cameo late on, though the hosts could not quite finish with a flourish. For Australia Women, Kim Garth and Sophie Molineux picked up a wicket each, while Annabel Sutherland impressed most with two scalps, including a superb final over that went for just two runs to rein things in.
Gardner's fight in a losing cause - Australia's chase burst out of the blocks with 18 runs coming off the first over, but the momentum quickly faded. Three wickets in the Powerplay dented their progress, and although Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner tried to steady things, the pressure kept mounting. Gardner looked the most dangerous, bringing up a fine half-century, but with the asking rate climbing steadily, she too fell. From there on, the target proved a step too far for the rest of the batting line-up.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Smriti Mandhana gets the accolade for her brilliant 82 off 55 balls. She says that it was good to contribute to the win and to beat Australia in Australia, feels good as well. Adds that Jemimah Rodrigues came in and made her run hard and that partnership was crucial. Smriti shares that they have played T20 matches in Australia after a long time but will not be carried away and focus on the ODI series now. On Jemi, Mandhana further adds that when she came in, she (Mandhana) was o 15 off 16 and Rodrigues struck a couple of boundaries to boost her confidence as well.
A landmark triumph for India Women - A fantastic all-round performance sees India Women clinch the T20I series 2-1. It is their first bilateral series win in this format on Australian soil since 2016, making the triumph even more significant. What makes it sweeter is their perfect record at this venue - two wins in two games over the Aussies, having also won the first match of that previous series here.

Shreyanka Patil To Annabel Sutherland OUT!
OUT! LBW! Shreyanka Patil has three and that is probably the final nail in the coffin for the Aussies. This is a flatter delivery, full and on middle. Annabel Sutherland changes her stance to go for the reverse sweep but this is too full for that shot. She misses as the ball goes under her bat to hit the pad right in front of the stumps. There is a big shout for LBW, and up goes the finger. Sutherland takes the review but much more in hope. Snickho confirm no bat involved and Ball Tracking shows three reds, with the ball crashing into the middle stump. India Women just one wicket away form the win now.
