So that is it from this game! The hosts have taken a 1-0 lead! There are two more games to go and the second one will be played on the 15th of March. That will begin at 1030 local (2330, previous day). Till then take care and goodbye!
MAN OF THE MATCH, MITCHELL MARSH, says he is very pleased with the win on the board and his performance. States they were very dissapointed with how things went in South africa but were pumped up for this game and series. Ends by saying the openers set it up brilliantly for the and then the bowlers did an excellent job.
Kane Williamson says the wicket was a tough one to bat on, the Aussies had an above par score, the opening stand and some nice comtribution in the middle order gave them a good score. States the Aussie bowling attack also did extremely well. Further adds they need to be better with the bat and need to be tighter with the ball. Ends by saying it was a tough outing and they were outplayed.
Aaron Finch credits the bowlers for the way they bowled. Furhter adds it was difficult adjusting to the pace of the wicket, they needed to pick the right balls to hit and hence, there were a lot of dot balls. Ends by saying he is pleased with the victory.
Earlier in the day, the Aussies after electing to bat, got off to an electrict start but once Warner fell, they kept losing at regular intervals. At one time, 250 looked difficult but a good effort from Labuschagne took them over that score. New Zealand's target was not a daunting one but the bowling from the Kiwis was exceptionl and it turned out to be enough in the end.
We got to witness a very disiplined picture bowling performance from the hosts! They need to do so as they weren't defending a huge score. Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins did very good with the new ball. Marsh was also impressive. Zampa got the crucial wickets. Can't pick who was the best amongst them but overall, it was an excellent team effort.
A convincing win for the Aussies! The question of whether this score was under par, above par or par has been answered. It was well above par as the Kiwis have fell well short. A poor batting display to be honest. They went about things with no intent, the openers started off way too cautiously but when the time came to accelerate, Nicholls was dismissed. Then Williamson and Guptill tried to steady things but Williamson was cleaned up. In no time, the Kiwis were five down, then there was a stand between Latham and Colin de Grandhomme which did revive a few hopes but once Latham fell, there was no fight from the lower-order and Australia took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Pat Cummins To Trent Boult OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! That is it. Australia have won here comprehensively. What a performance this from Australia. It is a length ball on off, Boult moves inside the crease and looks to pull it but gets a top edge that goes high in the air and Cummins there calls for it and takes it without any fuss. AUSTRALIA WIN BY 71 RUNS!

Josh Hazlewood To Lockie Ferguson
Howzzat? The answer to that question is not out! A short one on the body, Ferguson looks to pull but it goes off something to the keeper who takes it and appeals. The umpire shakes his head. Australia can't believe it and rightly so as replays show that it is right off the glove.
