That's all we have for you folks. Hope you all liked and enjoyed our ball-by-ball commentary. Join us on the 26th of January for the 1st T20I to be played at Adelaide. Until then, take care and ciao!
STEVEN SMITH says it's been really close as they have scored close to 3000 runs (In the series). Thinks that Pandey was outstanding. Rohit Sharma and Dhawan were brilliant and Dhoni did what he does the best. Adds that he is really proud of the way his boys played. Says that T20I is a different format and India are quality opponents and it should be a great series.
MS DHONI says they have been competitive in the series. Adds that the first 4 games were close and every over matters in such high scoring games. Says that they have a top order who has been there for a long time and are scoring 300 almost every game. Thinks that they don't have a settled bowling attack. Thinks that they can't just rely on pace and they need to cut down the flow of runs as well. Adds that now the T20I specialists will be coming in and they have some experienced guys in their line up. Ends by saying that it should be an exciting T20I series.
The Man of the Series is ROHIT SHARMA - (When asked about missing out on his century) Says that they won the game and that's more important. Adds that winning matters to him. Appreciates the way young Pandey played today. Adds that over the course of the tournament they played really good cricket. Says that they always talked about positive stuff in the dressing room and discussed how and where they went wrong. Further says that they wanted to come out and win today. Thinks that he is batting really well in ODIs and winning the series is always important but they played really hard and are looking forward to the T20Is.
The Man of the Match is MANISH PANDEY - Says the feeling is really good. Adds that he got to bat at number 4 as Rahane was injured and is happy that he capitalized on that. Thinks that it's motivating to bat with Dhoni at the other end. Ends by saying that it is always nice to have Indian people in the stadium and hopes to get the same amount of support in the future.
Put in to bat first, Australia were reduced to 117/4 at one moment but the 118-run stand between Warner and M.Marsh, who both scored centuries, proved vital in powering their team to 330/7. Debutant Jasprit Bumrah was impressive but the other Indian bowlers went for a lot of runs. A fiercely-contested series which went in Australia's favor though India will be happy they kept their pride intact with a consolation win.
Rohit Sharma sadly missed out on his century by a single run but it was Manish Pandey who went on to get to his maiden ODI century and take his team over the winning line. Not to forget the contribution of Shikhar Dhawan to chase down such a huge total with a quickfire 78 off just 56 balls as well as Dhoni's knock before holing out in the final over.
That could have been anybody's game but India kept their nerves to end up on the winning side in this final ODI. Australia win the series 4-1 and fail to have a clean sweep. On the back of another 100-plus opening stand, India started their chase brilliantly. It was Hastings who provided the initial three wickets to shake the visitors a bit.
