That is it then, Australia lead the 5-match series 4-0! The next match is at the SCG on the 23rd of this month. It will begin at 0850 IST. Until then, goodbye and stay safe!
Australia's skipper STEVEN SMITH also started by saying that cricket is a funny game. They were losing for a while there but a couple of wickets changed things. Says that when they got a sniff, they made sure they ran with it. Also says that Finch and Warner got them off to a great start. Ends by saying that they worked hard and it was a great game.
KANE RICHARDSON IS AWARDED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. He starts by saying that cricket is a funny old game. Gives credit to Hastings by saying that he bowled a really good spell to get them back in the game. Ends by saying that it is good to fight back and finally contribute to help the team.
Indian skipper MS DHONI said that he was not frustrated but disappointed with the loss. He said that this was one game he felt they should have done much better. Adds by saying that he takes the responsibility as his role was that of a finisher but he got out. Also says that the pressure was then on the youngsters after him. Ends by saying that slowly by playing more and more, they will realize that they have to give themselves more time.
Kane Richardson was the pick of the bowlers with 5 wickets while, Hastings and Marsh chipped in with two. Lyon helped himself to the solitary wicket. All in all, Australia thoroughly deserved this victory solely for not giving up.
Credit must go to the Australian bowlers who never gave up. Even when the game looked all but over, they were looking for a breakthrough that could give them a sniff. As much as the Indian middle order gifted wickets, they still came off some good balls.
India have only themselves to blame for this loss! They were in a comfortable position at one point but it all went down the drain once Kohli lost his wicket. None of the batsmen after that set themselves in and failed to take the match home. The 212-run partnership between Kohli and Dhawan was just not enough. Both of them got to centuries but those contributions came to no avail.
