That is it from us then. Ireland are still winless on this tour. The next three games are must-win for them, if they have to stay alive in the series. Join us on Sunday, 19th March 2017, at 0930 local (0400 GMT) for the third ODI from this venue. In the meanwhile, do have a look at the Test matches across the globe as NZ-SA, SL-Ban and Aus-Ind are going on. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious Afghanistan captain ASGHAR STANIKZAI praises his opening batsmen for starting the game well, which set the platform. Says that he wanted the game to go on for a long time as he has got excellent bowlers at the death in Rashid Khan and Dawat Zadran. Praises Rashid once again for bowling well.
Ireland skipper WILLIAM PORTERFIELD admits that it is frustrating but believes that today they played better. Agrees that Ireland lost wickets at crucial intervals to Rashid Khan and those were the big moments of the game. Feels that his team has played good enough cricket and could have won both games and is not far away from getting back to winning ways.
PAUL STIRLING HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH for his 6-fer and 95. Says that it feels nice to give all-round contribution but is disappointed that he could not finish it off. Admits that Rashid Khan has been the difference between the two sides and the batsmen will go back to the dressing room and try and work him out. On his reaction after being given out, Stirling says that the dressing room believes that the umpire is always right and that is the way it goes.
It has all been about one bowler in each innings. Paul Stirling took 6 in the first, Rashid replied with 6 in the second. Only difference - the Afghan batsmen threw their wickets away while the Irish could not pick Rashid Khan at all, especially his googlies. He got good support from Dawlat Zadran who got three wickets with some sensational death overs bowling. Would have been 4, but for that no ball. Mohammad Nabi had a rare bad outing today.
A bit of a farce in the end but a comfortable win for Afghanistan. Similar to the previous game, the top order fired for the visitors but then a familiar collapse in the middle order left them struggling. Stuart Thompson generated some interest with a late cameo but then, it was too much for one man to do.

BOWLED OFF A NO BALL. Dawlat bowls this short and straight and Dockrell pulls but misses. The ball hits the off stump and Afghanistan celebrate. But the umpires want to check for the overstepping. And replays show that Dawlat's foot landed on the line.
