Tevin Imlach and Anderson Phillip are holding the fort, for now, not just trying to survive but attempting to play their natural strokes to alleviate some of the pressure. Yet, the situation remains stark. New Zealand needs just two good pieces of cricket, two more wickets, to effectively seal the deal and claim a comprehensive victory. Conversely, the West Indies, with little left in the tank and hopes dwindling, must somehow summon immense grit and determination to bat out the entire final session of the day. Hope, who had appeared relatively comfortable at the crease until that point, then inexplicably misread a drifting ball that was heading straight for the stumps and offered no shot. A sharp review from Latham sealed his dismissal via an excellent piece of cricketing intuition, injecting further energy and belief into the New Zealand side. The quick succession of wickets continued when Kemar Roach couldn't hold his ground for long, also perishing quickly. The West Indies' position looked increasingly perilous, with their batting resources severely depleted and a substantial amount of time remaining in the day's play.
TEA ON DAY 5! The post-lunch session was a period of absolute dominance for New Zealand, who tightened their grip on the match with a display of disciplined, incisive bowling. Over a painstaking 32 overs, the Kiwis stifled the West Indies batters, conceding a mere 39 runs while capturing three crucial wickets. The session began with Shai Hope and Roston Chase looking to establish a resilient partnership and weather the storm, intent on batting the remainder of the day. However, their aspirations were quickly dismantled. Chase was the first to fall victim to the unyielding pressure, nicking a beautiful delivery from Duffy that bounced just enough off the deck, offering an easy catch to Tom Latham.

However, once the ball got soft, runs started to come by and eventually, Devon Conway and Tom Latham made history by both scoring centuries in both innings. Both fell right after scoring their tons but having laid the foundation, Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson came in with intent and scored 72 runs off just 37 balls together.
In the morning session, New Zealand quickly wrapped up the tail. Jacob Duffy led the attack, quickly removing the tail in the first hour and finishing with the figures of 4/86. West Indies were bowled out for 420. Kavem Hodge remained the hero for the visitors, finishing unbeaten on 123.
A 16-over phase for West Indies to see it off and they have done well to negotiate it without losing any wickets. The pitch has remained true for the batters throughout and despite the odd deliveries bouncing a bit or staying low, West Indies have played well to end the day.
