What does Wednesday have in store for us? DJ Bravo. DJ Bravo. Yes, the Trinbago Knight Riders are back in action and they take on St Lucia Zouks at 10 am local (1400 GMT). Then at 5.30 pm local (2130 GMT), the Tallawahs are back, this time to face Barbados Tridents. Do join us at those said times. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
End of the Tuesday double header. Patriots sneaked a nail-biting win in the morning, over the Tridents, while the Tallawahs and the Warriors competed pretty well to claim a prize for poorer batting. Jamaica have won but that does nothing much to their position in the table, as they stay 4th and Guyana, 3rd. However, it does take their net run rate into positive.
Victorious Jamaica Tallawahs skipper, Rovman Powell, says he is happy, especially after what happened in the previous encounter. Praises Fidel Edwards and Mujeeb Ur Rahman for the early blows with the ball. Bluntly says that the team is not happy with the way this total was chased down with the batsmen just throwing their wickets away through some poor shot-making. Wants his team to put in the hard yards during training. On Chadwick Walton's poor form, Powell smiles and says that he is not concerned yet as Walton has looked in good touch at the nets.
Guyana Amazon Warriors captain, Chris Green, admits that early wickets cost his team the match as they lost momentum and could never consolidate, except during that stand between Pooran and Taylor. Feels that it was a 130-wicket but 108 was way below par and batters need to stand up now. On the wicket, Green reckons that it was slow and low which put doubts in the minds of the batsmen, who could not decide whether to attack or defend. Further says that there were too many dot balls than usual in this game because of that. Wants his batsmen to learn from how Evin Lewis played his knock for the Patriots earlier in the day and play a long innings. Praises the efforts of the fielders and bowlers and just wants his batsmen to bat better.
MUJEEB UR RAHMAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH.
Who would be your Man Of The Match? Edwards? Mujeeb? Bonner? The presentation is coming up...
Earlier, another poor batting display saw the Warriors make just 108/9. Only three batsmen reached double figures with Fidel Edwards and Mujeeb Ur Rahman sharing 6 wickets between themselves. They may have a great bowling attack, the Warriors, but that just does not mean the batsmen keep putting on average scores.
Cannot honestly say whether the Warriors bowled really well or not because most of the wickets were due to abject batting. The Tallawahs have just two aspects to their batting - dots or boundaries. Not much in between. Even here, they consumed 55 dot balls out of 108. A bit too much. Imran Tahir and Ashmead Nedd were the pick of the bowlers, not giving much, while the others were not as effective, as they were in the previous encounter.
Bonner and Russell played it perfectly. Whether the target is 109 or 209, you need to spend some time in the middle, even if it be a belter of a pitch. And players like Russell can always catch up, as we have witnessed so many times in the past. Sweet striking towards the end from both these batsmen would have given some sort of a lift to that net run rate. They added an unbeaten 51 for the 6th wicket.
Talking about working on the batting, Jamaica too, need to have a look. They cannot be dependent on Andre Russell and need to bat more sensibly. They picked an extra batsman in Jermaine Blackwood but even then, the approach was shocking, with no batsman in the top 5, barring Blackwood, looking to stay out in the middle.
Not the most comfortable of wins for the Tallawahs but they will take it. Too many strokes being played, leading to a harakiri of sorts, before a sensible partnership saw them home. The Warriors suffer another loss and their batting has a lot of working to be done.

Naveen-ul-Haq To Jermaine Blackwood OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Commentators' curse strikes Blackwood. From showing his teammates how to play classy strokes, he now joins them in playing rash strokes and getting out. Nothing special about this delivery. It is full and wide outside off. Blackwood just looks to smash this, with his feet stuck on the crease. The result is a bottom edge. The keeper, Anthony Bramble, comes forward and takes it. The keeper and bowler celebrate but Blackwood is not going anywhere. Now, Guyana appeal and umpire Joel Wilson asks them to calm down. He has a chat with his partner regarding the legality of the catch and then refers it upstairs, asking the third umpire whether that has carried, with the soft signal as out. The first replay is clear enough to show that the ball has carried but the third umpire takes numerous replays to just re-confirm again and again. Eventually, OUT flashes on the giant screen. 47 more needed from 58 balls.
Is that a catch? The umpires are not sure. They refer it upstairs with the soft signal as OUT! Looks pretty good from the replays.

Naveen-ul-Haq To Jermaine Blackwood
FOUR! CLASSY! Blackwood is showing his own teammates, how to play a proper cricketing shot, without being ultra-aggressive. Full and outside off, Blackwood leans and drives it to the left of mid off. The fielder dives to his left but misses. 47 more needed from 59 balls. Blackwood moves to 23 from 18 deliveries.
Naveen-ul-Haq is back on. 1-0-10-1 so far.
DRINKS BREAK. The scorecard might indicate that Guyana are making a match out of this. But if truth be told, Jamaica are making a meal out of this. They are just looking to assert their dominance and adopt an ultra-aggressive approach and in the process, keeping gifting wickets away. Still, they would have to provide a few more of such gifts if the Warriors fancy a win. Just 51 needed from 60 balls.

Imran Tahir To Jermaine Blackwood
Down the leg side, Blackwood looks to flick but misses. The ball hits his pads, Tahir appeals. The ball then lobs in the air and Bramble looks for the catch. Does not get it. That was sliding down the leg side and no bat was involved.

Ooohhh... full and outside off, Phillips, probably expecting the wrong 'un, looks to flick. But he gets a leg spinner and hence, the ball goes off the leading edge, past short third man. A couple taken.

BEATEN! The response from Tahir is a faster one, outside off. Another wrong 'un, Jermaine looks to force that from the crease. The ball misses the outside edge and the off stump! 4 runs and a wicket from Tahir's opener.

FOUR! FETCH THAT! Fraction of width outside off, the googly again, Blackwood reaches out and blasts it through the covers. 99 more needed from 109 balls.
Jermaine Blackwood walks in at number 3, replacing Walton. This guy hasn't played in the CPL since 2015! That is half a decade ago.

Imran Tahir To Chadwick Walton OUT!
OUT! BOWLED! Tahir is up and running. Walton's misery continues in this tournament. The wrong 'un, around off, the batsman looks to defend, thinking that he has covered the line. But he hasn't. The ball spins in, exposes a tiny gap between bat and pad and lights the bails. 103 more needed from 110 balls.

FOUR! Edwards started off with a bang. Green has started with a loosener. Short and outside off, Phillips pounces on it like a tiger does on its prey ad cuts it through point.
Okay guys! Welcome back. How many overs will this run chase last? 108 to defend. Can the Warriors make a fist of this? The skipper, Chris Green, is up first. Glenn Phillips and Chadwick Walton are the openers, who have an excellent opportunity to cash in for fliers. Phillips to face.
