Perth Scorchers beat Brisbane Heat by 6 wickets
That concludes the proceedings for this match. Next up, on Tuesday, it's a crunch game for Hobart Hurricanes who will take on Melbourne Renegades. The action will begin at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT) but you can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Mitchell Marsh is chosen for the Player of the Match award for his incredible knock. The Aussie all-rounder says that it's wonderful to bat like this and it feels great to be back in the side and contribute. Mentions that he is hopeful to continue on his merry way and have some more fun. Tells that he doesn't know where they are going to play next but wherever they play, he will try to do his best and contribute as much as he can with both the bat and ball.
Perth Scorchers started the chase superbly with Kurtis Patterson showing ruthless form. He along with Josh Inglis laid the foundation but their innings stuttered a bit after the departure of both the openers. The run rate kept on mounting as the pair of Mitchell Marsh and Colin Munro took time to settle down. 70 runs were required off 48 balls when the Scorchers decided to take the Power Surge and the landscape of this match changed drastically. Marsh faced all the 12 balls of the Surge and amassed 36 runs to bring down the equation to 34 needed off 36 balls. He stroked a valuable fifty and his 84-run stand with Munro was enough to take the game away from Brisbane's reach. The Kiwi was a bit scratchy during his stay but he would be happy to spend some time in the middle and contribute to a match-winning partnership. Both the spinners of the Heat, Matthew Kuhnemann and Mitchell Swepson, were impressive but the rest of the bowlers weren't up to the mark.
Victory for Perth Scorchers and they finish their league round with a thumping win! A clinical game for them. They were put to the sword early on when Max Bryant went bonkers but the Perth bowlers showed great character to bounce back after the Powerplay to stop Brisbane's charge. Some late hitting from Jimmy Peirson helped the Heat to cross the 150-run mark but eventually, it didn't turn out to be enough. This is now their fifth defeat in a row and they have only one game left to end their campaign on a happy note.

Drinks break. We have reached the halfway point in this chase and this match is tantalizingly poised. 89 needed more off 60 balls. Perth Scorchers' batting innings is almost a replica of Brisbane Heat's. Powerplay fetched them runs and then a couple of wickets fell. The runs also dried up. The current pair of Mitchell Marsh and Colin Munro though has spent some time in the middle and Perth won't be feeling much pressure.

NOT OUT! It's grassed. Short and on middle. Munro pulls it to deep square leg. The fielder in the deep, Nathan McSweeney, misjudges the trajectory of the ball. He dives ahead at the last moment to catch the ball. The batters take a single. The fielder is not sure though whether he has taken the catch cleanly or not and the umpires are also not sure. They take it upstairs. Replay suggests that Nathan McSweeney had no fingers underneath when he took the catch. Munro will remain at the crease.
In the air... A low catch is taken at deep square leg. The fielder (Nathan McSweeney) though is not sure whether it carried and the umpires have decided to refer it upstairs. The third umpire is watching multiple angles and then finds that the ball has touched the ground, with no fingers underneath it.

OUT! CAUGHT! Neser gets the breakthrough Brisbane Heat were looking for. Runs in and bowls a back-of-a-length ball, on middle and leg. Josh Inglis swivel-pulls it behind square on the leg side. He tries to go for a maximum but holes out instead as Sam Heazlett runs to his right, puts in a slide and takes a good sharp catch. The two umpires get together as there is some doubt regarding Sam touching the fence while completing the catch. The third umpire is referred but just one frame is enough to rule the decision in favour of the bowling team. Not sure what all the fuss was about as Heazlett was well inside the boundary line.

Mark Steketee To Kurtis Patterson
SIX! High and handsome! Plenty of width outside off, short in length, Patterson remains on the back foot and bludgeons it over covers for a biggie. Stand and deliver - this shot was a perfect example of that.

Shout for an lbw! The umpire remains still. It's on a length around middle and leg, angling down, Inglis tries to heave but misses. They appeal but nothing from the umpire. Missing leg, perhaps. Too high as well.
James Bazley comes into the attack. He replaces Michael Neser.

Beauty to beat the outside edge straightaway. Excellent seam presentation, lands on a length around off and getting it to nip away, Kurtis pushes inside the line and misses.
