England Women beat India Women by 5 wickets
Right then, there's only one more thing left to do and that is Harmanpreet Kaur picking up the series-win trophy and she joins her team on the podium as they celebrate joyously. This marks the end of a historic five-match T20I series between England Women and India Women which has ended in India's first-ever bilateral triumph against England, that too on their home soil. It was a well-contested series, which India have won 3-2 but there's plenty of action still to come. Next up, it is the three-match ODI series, starting on July 16 in Southampton. The first game will begin at 5.30 pm IST (12 pm GMT) but you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Till then, take care and goodbye!
India Women captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, says that it is a great achievement for them to come here and win a series and even in this game, it was a valiant effort from her side. Adds that whenever Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma are batting, it is a treat to watch as they dominate the opposition and hopes that it continues for long. Mentions that they had a good camp before this series and even after this series, they have a good month of preparation ahead of the Women's World Cup. On Shree Charani, she says that they always look for 6 bowling options and are happy to have got that. Ends by saying that they are looking forward to the ODI series and thanks the crowd as they support them in large numbers wherever they play.
Tammy Beaumont, the captain of England Women, says that it has been a difficult series for them and applauds India for playing some brilliant cricket. Tammy is also proud of her team and the performance in this game. Mentions that for her it has been about keeping calm and credits Shafali Verma for the way she played and applauds her bowlers, especially Charlie Dean, for the way they pulled things back. On their fielding and athleticism, she says that it is not something that can be corrected overnight but they are putting in a lot of work. On the run chase, she says that the openers played brilliantly and it got a bit tight in the end but that's fine.
The young spin sensation from India Women, Shree Charani, is the Player of the Series for taking 10 wickets in her maiden series. Shree says that she enjoyed it a lot and she feels great to play at such fine venues. Adds that she just tried to bowl to her strengths. Mentions that the spirit in this Indian team is very positive.
Charlie Dean is the Player of the Match for her three-wicket haul. She says that they took two early wickets, after which the Indian batters got into a nice rhythm, Shafali Verma in particular and she just looked to keep things simple. On getting Harmanpreet Kaur, she says that Kaur is a great player and she knew that it was a big wicket to get. On being a part of the English spin trio, she says that they have the capability and all of them did well.
Natalie Sciver-Brunt has been adjudged as the England Women's Player of the Summer.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, England Women won the toss and Tammy Beaumont put India Women and the decision seemed to be the right one early on. The hosts picked up a couple of quick wickets before Shafali Verma got into a punishing mood and hammered the ball to all parts of the ground. It was then Charlie Dean who led the right-back for England Women with her three wickets as the first innings ebbed and flowed right throughout.
India Women neded some inspiration in the latter half of the chase and once they got the first wicket, it instantly brought them one more. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav got into the wickets tally but they were always playing catchup and a partnership between Maia Bouchier and Tammy Beaumont all but sealed things for England. However, some drama unfolded in the final over as Arundhati Reddy picked up a couple of wickets, one of which included a sensational catch from Radha Yadav but Sophie Ecclestone kept her cool and took her team over the line on the very last ball.
168 wasn't going to be a straightforward chase but Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Sophia Dunkley came out all guns blazing. Wyatt-Hodge, who was playing her 300th international game for England Women, seemed a totally different person and was so confident, unlike in the other games in this series. She struck a stellar half century as Dunkley showed great control from the other end. The pair put on 101 big runs inside just 11 overs and the Indian bowlers didn't have any answers.
Wow! What a contest to draw the curtain on this five-match T20I series and England Women have made history by chasing down 168 runs, the highest successful run chase for them at Edgbaston. India Women do win the series and they even managed to make a real match out of this one after that early onslaught by the English openers.

Arundhati Reddy To Sophie Ecclestone
Oh, what drama! Full and straight, Arundhati Reddy gets the yorker spot-on. Sophie Ecclestone manages to jam it out to a shortish mid on and starts sprinting for the single. Smriti Mandhana picks up the ball and opts to go for the underarm throw at the bowler's end and misses from just a few yards out. England Women have snatched the win on the very final ball and they win by 5 wickets.

Oh, that's gone through and they pinch the third run as well! Good length outside off, Sophie Ecclestone throws her hands at it and slashes it away in between short third and backward point. The ball slows down and the fielders manage to get it. However, the batters press for the third run and get it with ease in the end.
Sophie Ecclestone is in next.

Arundhati Reddy To Amy Jones OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! That is simply outrageous from Radha Yadav. Fuller in length and straight at the stumps, Amy Jones clears the front leg and swings across the line but doesn't time it. The ball sails just over mid-wicket but Radha Yadav comes charging in from the deep and puts in a big dive to catch it brilliantly and even manages to hold onto it on the heavy fall. The third umpire is called in to check the fairness of the catch and the replays do confirm that Radha had control of the ball. Are we in for a Super Over?

Tammy Beaumont sets up for the big heave across the line but the ball dips and completely takes Beaumont by surprise. She goes through with the shot and the ball ends up crashing into the middle stump. This game is still alive!
