So now with the scoreline reading 1-1, the teams will now travel to Chester-le-Street to play the decider on Tuesday, 22nd July. That game will begin at 5.30 pm IST (12 pm GMT) but as always, we will be up and running with our pre-match buildup well before the start of the game. So, join us nice and early. Until then, goodbye and take care!
Natalie Sciver-Brunt, the skipper of England, says that cricket is a funny, odd game at times, but they know that when the time comes, they need to switch on. Mentions that it is great to see the players taking ownership, and the bowlers did a fine job today. Adds that the effort can't be faulted in terms of the catching, but it isn't nice to see when the catches do go down. On the opening batters, Nat applauds the way they played and adds that there wasn't much pressure on the middle order after that opening stand. She concludes by saying that she is looking forward to the final game in Durham.
Harmanpreet Kaur, Indian Captain, says that her team didn’t bat well and could have had a better total on this pitch. She adds that credit goes to the English bowlers, as they bowled well and didn’t allow her team to score freely. On the surface and in overcast conditions, she says that the toss becomes important, and it didn’t go their way. However, she adds that it was a decent total and her pacers couldn’t quite get early wickets. She says overall it wasn’t their day today. On the deciding 3rd game coming up, she says they will look to forget this win and get it out of their minds before the 3rd game. She adds that her team will look to enter the third game with a positive approach.
Sophie Ecclestone is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her three-wicket haul. She says that it felt great to get out there and thankfully, the rain stopped. Adds that she always likes bowling at Lord's as the ball skids on here as well. Reckons that there was a bit of spin and skid while bowling at the stumps.
Presentation Ceremony.
Earlier in the day, India Women scampered their way to 143 as a few batters did get starts but couldn’t quite convert them into big ones. Only Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma got 20+ scores as India Women struggled to build partnerships with wickets falling at regular intervals. Sophie Ecclestone was the wrecker-in-chief, as she registered a 3-fer to her name. Apart from her, Em Arlott also looked in a good bowling rhythm as he finished figures of 6-1-26-2.
There was a small stoppage in play due to rain, and the target of 144 was then reduced to 115 as per DLS. The Indian Pacers were a bit wayward to start with as they struggled to control their lines with the swing on offer. Sneh Rana was the only spinner who looked effective, and Kranti Gaud had her moment in the game as she produced a peach of a delivery to get rid of Natalie Sciver-Brunt.
So, England Women registers a fairly comfortable win at the Home of Cricket to keep the series alive. Their batting was fairly unfazed by the subpar Indian target, as from the very start of the chase, they looked in command, and there was hardly a moment in the chase when Indian bowlers threatened to be ahead. The opening duo of Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones set up a nice platform, registering a 54-run stand before Tammy Beaumont fell to Sneh Rana trying to reverse-sweep her. After that, the English captain, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, came into the middle and she got into the act straightaway as she and Amy Jones put on a 48-run stand before Kranti Gaud knocked over the English skipper right after the rain break.

Kranti Gaud To Natalie Sciver-Brunt OUT!
OUT! TIMBER! A little too late but that is a fine delivery from Kranti Gaud. Served on a hard length and around off, this one nips back in off the seam. Natalie Sciver-Brunt looks to play across the line but is undone by the movement and is beaten through the gate. The ball hits the top of the stumps and Sciver-Brunt has to walk back for 21.

Kranti Gaud To Natalie Sciver-Brunt
Good length on off, Natalie Sciver-Brunt taps it back to the bowler.
Right then, we are back! The rain seems to have stopped completely and the Indian players, along with the duo of Amy Jones and Natalie Sciver-Brunt, are waiting patiently along the boundary ropes. The umpires are also beside them and it seems like they are waiting for some official documentation before getting back onto the field of play. The batters are back out on the field and so are the two umpires but Indian skipper and vice-captain, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, are a bit confused with the DLS target and reluctantly get onto the field. The revised target will be 115 runs according to the DLS method in 24 overs, which means 13 runs to get in 32 balls. Kranti Gaud is all set to finish off her incomplete over...
UPDATE - 11.23 pm IST (5.53 pm GMT) - It seems like the umpires are calling for the hover cover to come off as well and we might get going again pretty soon. However, Ravi Shastri on-air informs that the cut-off time is around 11.41 pm IST (6.11 pm GMT) and if the covers go off now, according to their statistician, 5 more overs will be lost. England Women would need to get 115 runs in 22 overs for the win, which is just 13 more runs in 20 legal deliveries. However, with a slight drizzle still out there, it is not certain that play will start unless it stops completely. A lot of questions should be answered pretty soon, stay tuned.
UPDATE - 11.16 pm IST (5.46 pm GMT) - It now looks like the rain has subsided but with the covers already on, it needs to stop completely before the players can get back onto the field. The umpires are out in the middle and having a discussion with the ground staff, who are trying to get the covers off. Very frustrating for everyone involved but weather can be unpredictable and we can only hope that we are able to finish the game, even with a further reduction in overs.
Uh, oh! Would you believe it? With just 8 balls left to constitute a complete game, the rain has come pouring down. England Women will be devastated if this shower is a prolonged one, as we've lost plenty of overs already and we will start losing even more with every passing minute. Hopefully, it is just a passing shower.

DRINKS BREAK! England Women are cruising along at the moment and they needed 66 runs off the remaining 14 overs. However, we have seen in this game and in this series that scoring can slow down in this phase and if India can do that whilst picking up a few wickets, this could go down to the wire. For England, the positive is that Jones is well set and Natalie Sciver-Brunt is out there to use all her experience and see her side over the line. Will we see any surprises in the second half of the chase? Let's find out.

Quicker flatter on off, Tammy pushes at it and plaus it into the off side.
Oh, what drama! The third umpire deems that Tammy Beaumont didn't obstruct the field as she was in her crease and just looked to get her other foot in as well. Well, the Indian fielders and plenty of fans might disagree as the Law states that any batter looking to interfere with the ball when it is in the state of play can be deemed as obstructing the field. Anyway, let's get back to the game at hand.

Deepti Sharma To Tammy Beaumont
Full on middle Beaumont flicks it to the right of short mid-wicket and calls for a quick single, but Jones denies. Oh, hello, India Women are appealing for obstruction in the field? Yes, they are. Two umpires converge to discuss the case, and they are going to refer it upstairs. Richa Ghosh is the one who appealed. So here's what happened. Tammy is going back to her crease and a throw from short mid-wicket comes towards Tammy. As she comes into the crease, she attempts to kick the ball away, which was coming towards her. It looks like she's comfortably in and hence the third umpire is not concerned. NOT OUT is the call.
