Imrul Kayes, the skipper of Comilla Victorians, says that they did not click in the first three matches. Shares that they had a lot of discussions after those losses. Adds that they changed their plans and it was all about executing it on the field. Mentions that the plan was that one of the openers will look to bat through and which is what Litton Das did today.
Litton Das is the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 70 runs from 42 balls. He says that he gave his best in this game. Adds that Chattogram is good for batting and all he did was time the ball. Shares that he felt bad after losing Mohammad Rizwan to a run out as he is their key player. Reckons that it is all about building partnerships while chasing a low total and one of the batters has to bat for 15-16 overs.
Mashrafe Mortaza, the skipper of Sylhet Strikers, says that they were 15-20 runs short. Adds that they did not bat well upfront as well as during the middle overs. Feels that they needed a partnership after losing three wickets but it was unfortunate to lose Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain Shanto. Ends by saying that Imad Wasim bowled well and having another spinner would have certainly helped.

Sylhet Strikers will be ruing their performance with the bat in the first inning as they failed to put up a decent total on the board and with the way they bowled they would have loved to have 10-15 more runs in their kitty. They were 53 for the loss of 7 wickets before Imad Wasim and Thisara Perera both scored over 40 runs and put together an 80-run partnership to take their side to a fighting total. Hasan Ali and Mukidul Islam claimed two wickets each with Tanvir Islam and Abu Hider chipping in with one each but they will be disappointed that they were unable to wrap up the inning earlier. It did not prove to be an issue though as Litton Das got them off to a flying start.
Comilla Victorians got off to a quick start and managed to put on a good opening partnership of 56 runs in 42 balls. Mohammad Rizwan was run out due to a misunderstanding but Imrul Kayes came out to provide Litton Das good support. The skipper was dismissed by Sharifullah and Mashrafe Mortaza came back on to dismiss Litton Das on 70 of 42 balls. The skipper of Sylhet Strikers claimed the wicket of Khushdil Shah soon after and when Jaker Ali got run out on the very next ball there were a few jitters in the Comilla Victorians' dressing room. Johnson Charles and Mosaddek Hossain managed to keep their cool though and helped their team get across the finish line.
This was meant to be an easy run chase for the reigning champions but they made long work of it! In the end, they managed to get over the finish line and win successive games to get their tournament rolling. They have also got revenge for their away loss against Sylhet Strikers as they condemn them to their first loss of the season. Litton Das had taken the hosts into a comfortable position and they were well ahead of the eight ball but a stutter towards the end gave the visitors a glimmer of hope. Comilla Victorians win by 5 wickets with an over left to play and are now on course to hunt for the top two spots on the table.
