Lucy Hamilton, the skipper of Australia Women Under-19 says that they were clinical enough and they played a superb game of cricket. Earlier in the game, the Scotland Women's Under-19 team struggled to make an impact with the bat, managing only 48 runs in their opening innings. Only two Scottish batters reached double figures, leaving their team's batting lineup looking rather toothless. The Australian bowlers were on fire, with Eleanor Larosa and Caoimhe Bray claiming three wickets each, while Hasrat Gill took two. Tegan Williamson and Juliette Morton also chipped in with one wicket apiece.

The Scottish bowlers were unable to pose a challenge to the Australian batters, who wrapped up the match in a hurry. Nayma Sheikh was the only bowler who registered herself into the wickets column. This convincing win marks a strong start to Australia's campaign in the tournament.

Kate Pelle lit up the proceedings with an explosive first over, smashing three sixes to get Australia off to a flying start. Alongside her partner Ines McKeon, they made quick work of the modest Scottish total of 48. By the time Ines McKeon departed, Australia was almost at the finish line, and Kate Pelle, along with Lucy Hamilton, ensured they crossed it with ease. Although Australia secured a convincing win, a concern that emerged was Ines McKeon's vulnerability against leg-cutters and slower deliveries. Despite her short stay at the crease, she struggled against this type of delivery and was eventually dismissed by a leg-spinner. Knowing the metal of the Aussie, the team management will work on it.

A clinical and dominant display by the Australians, who made a strong statement in their opening match of the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2025 by first bundling out Scotland to 48 and then chasing it down inside the first 7 with 9 wickets in hands.
