That's all from this game! India take a 1-0 lead in this 3-match T20I series after a convincing win. Australia, on the other hand, will be disappointed with their performance. The second T20I will be played on 6th December 2020 in Sydney. That match will begin at 1910 Local (0810 GMT). Join us for that. Until then, cheers.
Virat Kohli, the winning captain, says that Yuzvendra Chahal coming into the team was not planned. Says that the concussion substitute worked in this game but may not work all the time. States that Chahal bowled well and that the boys showed overall character. Adds that he feels the Australians had a great start and were cruising. States that his team put the pressure on the Aussies and pulled it back. Believes it is important to keep coming back. In Australia, if one needs to play, they must play with the right intent. On Jadeja, Kohli states that he played really well. Also lauds Natarajan, Chahar and Sundar for their performances. Praises Samson and credits the outstanding catch for bringing his team back in the match. Feels Hardik also did well on the field.
Aaron Finch, the Australian captain, says that he is a bit unsure whether he has a bit of a leg or hip injury. On Jadeja not being able to play and Chahal replacing him, Finch says that the doctor stated that Jadeja would not be in a position to play. He says that they cannot challenge the opinion of a medical expert. Adds that they gave away a lot of runs at the death and with the bat, they failed to find the boundaries which was important in a run chase like this.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the MAN OF THE MATCH. He says that obviously it is a great feeling. States that he suddenly got to know that he would play. Says that 10-15 minutes before the chase began, he got to know that he can play and then he did some warm-ups. Tells that at the half-way mark, India had a good score. Feels 160-165 would always be a difficult score to chase. Adds that he bowled according to his plans.
Earlier, in the day, Jadeja's blitz helped India post a challenging score on a tough wicket. He was brilliant in this game. KL Rahul was good as well while the others struggled. Australia's bowling was good at the start and in the middle, but they lost their lines and lengths at the death. They were punished by Jadeja. In the end, 161 proved to be enough for India as they ended up winning by 11 runs. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!
Australia's batting was not upto the mark. They started off well with Finch attacking from ball one and Short playing a perfect supporting role for him. But once, Finch fell to Chahal, they lost their way. Smith and Maxwell did not last long while Short struggled throughout his innings before he fell. Henriques tried hard but with partners running out, he had too much to do in the end and they collapsed to a 11-run defeat. They would be a very disappointed bunch as they would have believed that they will be able to chase this score down at one point.
India's bowling was brilliant. All the bowlers bowled exceptionally well with only Shami being a little expensive. It all started with Chahal who was brought in as a concussion substitute. He started it all with gettting the big wicket of Aaron Finch and then sent Steven Smith back to the dugout in quick time. Chahal was economical as well and he was well supported by Washington Sundar. Sundar did not pick up any wickets but the way he kept it tight was crucial for India's chances. T Natarajan was the star on his T20I debut as he picked up a 3-fer, including the wicket of the Big Show, Glenn Maxwell. All the bowlers kept it tight and did not give much away. Overall, it was an excellent bowling performance.
A comprehensive victory for India in the end. They had a respectable score to defend and they have bowled extremely well to defend this score with some ease. They get back-to-back wins in Canberra, one in the last ODI and now in the first T20I and move back to Sydney for the remaining two T20Is with confidence. Virat Kohli will be one happy captain.

FOUR! An effort too late. Back-to-back wins for India at the Manuka Oval. Full and around off, Mitchell Swepson clears his front leg and launches it over covers. Hardik Pandya runs in to his left from long off but cannot cut it off. A boundary results but THE INDIANS WIN BY 11 RUNS!

OUT! BOWLED! And the yorker Natarajan cleans his left-arm counterpart from Australia. The angle is very good for a left-arm seamer. What a debut he is having. It was a yorker on off and middle, Starc gives himself some room and looks to go big over covers. But he misses and the ball crashes into the sticks.

Deepak Chahar To Moises Henriques OUT!
OUT! LBW! Moises is dismissed. Fullish on middle, Henriques had moved to the off side a touch. He looks to swing it to the leg side but misses to get hit on the pads. An appeal for LBW is put and the umpire, Rod Tucker, raises his finger. Henriques gets to the other end and then flashes the 'T'. It is taken upstairs. Only bat can save Moises Henriques. But there is no bat, as confirmed from Hot Spot and Snicko. Ball Tracker just states the obvious - THREE REDS! The 6th wicket is down for the Aussies. They need 36 runs in 14 balls still.
Moises Henriques has been given out LBW! India did not look too confident but the on-field umpire was sure. Henriques takes the review. There is nothing on Ultra Edge and the HotSpot shows all reds. Review lost.

OUT! TAKEN! What a spell of bowling this has been from Chahal. It was the last ball of his spell and he gets a wicket there as well. Matthew Wade has not had a good day. T Natarajan To Glenn Maxwell OUT!
OUT! LBW! What a review from Kohli and India! What a moment for T Natarajan! He gets his first T20I wicket and has taken the big wicket of Maxwell. Brilliant use of the review. It looked plumb and the only thing that could have saved Maxwell was the bat but that did not happen. Natarajan bowls a good length delivery on middle and off, Maxwell looks to defend but misses and gets hit on the pads. There is an appeal but the umpire is not interested. Kohli takes the review immediately. There is nothing on Ultra Edge but the Ball Tracker shows all reds. So, Maxwell has to walk back.
Right then, Kohli has called for a review. It is to have a look at the LBW appeal, which went against India, on-field. Nothing on the Hot Spot or the Snicko, so that means no bat there. What does Ball Tracker have to say? THREE REDS ON THE BALL TRACKER.... DECISION REVERSED!

T Natarajan To Aaron Finch
EDGED AND FOUR! Runs in any way are welcome for Australia. 50 comes up for them as well. Aaron Finch was very very lucky there. It was full and around off, the Aussie skipper looks to drive it through the covers. He though gets an inside edge. The ball goes past the stumps and into the fine leg fence.

Deepak Chahar To D'Arcy Short
BEATEN! Some good old-fashioned swing bowling this. Chahar gets it to land around off and swing away, beating the outside edge of D'Arcy Short who looked to poke at it. A good start for the Australians though. 14/0 at the end of the first over. Not the start India were hoping for.

Deepak Chahar To Aaron Finch
FOUR! That is a perfect start for Australia. Finch does not want Deepak to settle into a rhythm. It was short and outside off, Aaron Finch comes down and drags it down to the mid-wicket boundary.
We are all set for the chase then. The Australian openers step out to the middle. Aaron Finch is opening alongside D'Arcy Short. New company for Aaron. Both the openers' numbers are phenomenal. They would want to get to a good start. Deepak Chahar will start with the ball for the Men in Blue. Will be interesting to see how much swing he can generate. Here comes the first ball...
