Peake's century anchors Australian innings - Earlier, Australia posted a commanding 314/7 in their 50 overs after being asked to bat first, with captain Oliver Peake anchoring the innings with a brilliant 109. The innings began with a Powerplay blitz led by opener Will Malajczuk, who smashed 48 off 30 balls. Despite the West Indies attempts to claw back wickets in the middle overs, led by the efforts of R’jai Gittens and Vitel Lawes. Peake combined first with Nitesh Samuel​​​​​​, who scored 56, and then Alex Lee Young, who played a good hand of 45 to build steady partnerships. The pair added another crucial 35 runs together, effectively preventing any potential collapse and denying the Australians a chance to gain a foothold in the game.
