Colombo:
Sri Lanka cricket captain Angelo Mathews on Wednesday said the islanders are determined to give a fitting send off to the retiring Kumar Sangakkara by winning the upcoming Test series against India.
"A series win is the best way to send off a player of Sangakkara's caliber," Mathews said.
Sangakkara has announced his retirement from international cricket after the second match of the three-Test series against India starting August 12.
Sangakkara's last match will be from August 20-24 at P Sara Oval here.
