Rishakanta Singh Sets CWG Record But Settles For Silver In Men's 60kg Weightlifting
India's wait for a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026 continued on Sunday, as Chanambam Rishikanta Singh settled for the second spot on the podium in the men's 60kg weightlifting. Rishikanta's biggest competitor in the event, Malaysia's Mohamad Aniq Bin Kasdan, bagged top spot on the podium. Both successfully lifted a maximum of 121kg in the snatch category-a feat that also enabled them to set a Games record. In the clean & jerk, however, Kasdan produced a better performance in comparison to Rishikanta.
