Looks like the closing ceremony is going to conclude with a blockbuster performance from legendary Scottish band Simple Minds, led by frontman Jim Kerr! A fitting farewell to a short but brilliantly-hosted edition of the Commonwealth Games!

Following Prince Edward's speech, we move on to a joyous melody made by dance troupe Diversity and Scottish folk-rock group Reel Time Cailidh Band. Dancers flock the stage, this is quite an atmosphere!

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, comes on stage after the Indian performances end. He addresses the audience and proclaims the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 closed.

One of India's most popular singers, Shankar Mahadevan, now takes centre stage, along with his two sons. From 'Ae Watan' to 'Bhag Milkha Bhaag', and then 'Lehra Do' and finally 'Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani', Shankar Mahadevan sends the crowd into raptures with some Indian music favourites!

The electrifying performance is met by a huge applause as it comes to an end!

A video is played, introducing Ahmedabad as the hosts of the 2030 Commonwealth Games. After that, Indian sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma and Scottish piper Ross Ainslie steal the show with their performance, which comes amid fireworks in the background!

The first part of the Indian half of the closing ceremony is underway. A rendition of India's national song 'Vande Mataram' is played, and Manushi Chhillar dazzles by leading the dance choreography. A brilliant flavour of traditional Indian music!

The Commonwealth flag is handed over to India! Star javelin athlete Neeraj Chopra, IOA president PT Usha and Gujarat deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi receive the flag. 

And now it's time for the Indian flavour of the closing ceremony!

Scotland's wheelchair racer Melanie Woods wins the David Dixon Award for the 'outstanding athlete of the Games and fair play'. Melanie had to re-run her women's T54 5000m race, and did so to win gold, breaking the Games record in the process.

George Black, the chair of Glasgow 2026, wishes Ahmedabad well in its efforts to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be the centenary edition of the event.

"From Glasgow to Ahmedabad, two great river cities, we wish you every success as you prepare to welcome the centenary Games," he says.

Scotland-based award-winning Indie folk band Elephant Sessions take centre stage, and then the Commonwealth flag is lowered, signalling the closing of the Games.

Glasgow 2026 chair George Black will now address the audience.

Scottish band Primal Scream bring some traditional Scottish music to the stage at the closing ceremony, before rapper BEMZ joins them and performs. The party atmosphere continues!

Delta Goodrem has absolutely lit up the closing ceremony. She performs her hit song 'Warrior' after a message of tribute to the athletes, and then performs a duet with Cammy Barnes, who also comes on stage!

Time for the nations parade, as the flag-bearers of the 74 participating nations take centre stage. Jaismine Lamboria waves the India flag high as she enters the OVO Hydro. A party atmosphere at the arena, as the flag-bearers enter while Australian singer Delta Goodrem lights it up.

Moments earlier, a music video of Cammy Barnes' 'Whisky Roll' was also played.

The closing ceremony of Glasgow 2026 is on! It's Scottish singer Sandi Thom, along with the band Clann An Drumma, who gets the proceedings underway with the song 'Proud to be from Scotland'.

We are around 30 minutes away from the start of the CWG 2026 closing ceremony. If the opening ceremony is anything to go by, tonight's event is set to be another glittering affair at Glasgow's OVO Hydro arena.

Veteran singer Shankar Mahadevan and 2017 Miss World Manushi Chillar are the headline Indian names set to dazzle in tonight's opening ceremony. Popular actor Rashmika Mandanna was also reported to feature, but there's no confirmation on her presence as yet.

With India hosting the Games in 2030, a unique Indian flavour will be added to the closing ceremony.

Despite a number of their best sports not being in this year's competition, India finished Glasgow 2026 with a total of 39 medals (13 gold, 17 silver, 9 bronze). A haul of 10 boxing medals was the standout feature of a successful campaign, at the end of which they finished fourth in the overall medal table.

The parade of the nations is set to be another notable feature of the closing ceremony. India's flag-bearer will be boxer Jaismine Lamboria, who was one of seven Indian boxers to win gold at this year's Games.

We are set for a distinct concoction of Scottish, Indian and international music and dance in the closing ceremony of Glasgow 2026. Rock band Simple Minds leads the features representing the home nation. They will be joined by Scottish musicians Cammy Barnes, BEMZ and Sandi Thoms.

Popular singer Shankar Mahadevan and actor Manushi Chillar will headline India's performances. We are also gearing up for a fusion between Scottish musician Ross Ainslie and Indian sitarist Rishab Sharma.
