CWG 2026 Closing Ceremony Highlights: The Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 officially came to a close with a blockbuster closing ceremony on Sunday (local time). The Commonwealth flag and baton were passed over to India, who were represented by Neeraj Chopra, PT Usha and Gujarat deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi on stage. In the nations' parade, gold medalist boxer Jaismine Lamboria acted as India's flag-bearer. A dazzling mix of Indian and Scottish music took over the OVO Hydro. The ceremony was headlined by performances from popular Indian singer Shankar Mahadevan and 2017 Miss World Manushi Chhillar. Legendary Scottish band Simple Minds and Australian singer Delta Goodrem also stole the limelight during the grand closing ceremony.

The first part of the Indian half of the closing ceremony is underway. A rendition of India's national song 'Vande Mataram' is played, and Manushi Chhillar dazzles by leading the dance choreography. A brilliant flavour of traditional Indian music!

Scotland's wheelchair racer Melanie Woods wins the David Dixon Award for the 'outstanding athlete of the Games and fair play'. Melanie had to re-run her women's T54 5000m race, and did so to win gold, breaking the Games record in the process.

George Black, the chair of Glasgow 2026, wishes Ahmedabad well in its efforts to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be the centenary edition of the event.

Delta Goodrem has absolutely lit up the closing ceremony. She performs her hit song 'Warrior' after a message of tribute to the athletes, and then performs a duet with Cammy Barnes, who also comes on stage!

Time for the nations parade, as the flag-bearers of the 74 participating nations take centre stage. Jaismine Lamboria waves the India flag high as she enters the OVO Hydro. A party atmosphere at the arena, as the flag-bearers enter while Australian singer Delta Goodrem lights it up.
Moments earlier, a music video of Cammy Barnes' 'Whisky Roll' was also played.

We are around 30 minutes away from the start of the CWG 2026 closing ceremony. If the opening ceremony is anything to go by, tonight's event is set to be another glittering affair at Glasgow's OVO Hydro arena.

Veteran singer Shankar Mahadevan and 2017 Miss World Manushi Chillar are the headline Indian names set to dazzle in tonight's opening ceremony. Popular actor Rashmika Mandanna was also reported to feature, but there's no confirmation on her presence as yet.
With India hosting the Games in 2030, a unique Indian flavour will be added to the closing ceremony.
