Judoka Shraddha Kadubal Chopade's medal hopes have come to an end. She lost her repechage semi-final to Wales' Lola Hodson in a tightly contested bout. Both judokas had picked up two shidos each, but Hodson secured a crucial takedown to advance. Hodson will now compete for a bronze medal later today.

A strong opening effort from Tejaswin Shankar in the Men's Decathlon Pole Vault! He clears 4.10m on his first attempt to move to the top of Group B. However, recent results across both groups have seen him slip from 2nd to 4th in the overall standings.

A third consecutive unanimous decision for Ankush as he storms into the men's 80kg final! Following a convincing win over Canada's Joshua Ofori, he has now assured India of at least a silver medal.

Ankush's speed and powerful combinations did the heavy damage early on, allowing him to take a 5-0 victory on points despite Ofori pushing hard in the final round!

India through to the final! The quartet of Vishal TK, Rajesh Ramesh, Rashdeep Kaur, and Neeru Pathak finish fourth in their Mixed 4x400m Relay heat with a timing of 3:20.98, qualifying as the 7th fastest team overall. A solid effort, but they will need an even better performance in the final to put themselves in medal contention.

Tejaswin Shankar with the Personal Best attempt of 40.44 meters. The third and final attempt sees him placed 6th in the Men's Decathlon Discus Throw event. Overall, he is still second.

Harsh Singh with the perfect execution of the arm-lock, as he gets Kathewara to tap out. The Indian gets the deserved victory, and qualify for the quarter-finals.

India's Harsh Kumar is in action against Chikondi Kathewera of Malawi in the judo men's 60 kg round of 16. He holds the advantage after his opponent was issued a yellow card (shido).

Tejaswin Shankar, who is presently 2nd in the overall Decathlon standings, has registered throws of 37.20 meters and 39.66 meters in his first and second attempts, respectively. He is placed 6th in this event so far.

Mwape was no match for Preeti, with the Indian secured a dominant 5-0 win against the pugilist from Zambia. Her progression has assured the country of at least a silver medal from Women's 54kg boxing.

India's rampant run in boxing continues in the 2026 Glasgow Games as Preeti Pawar enters the Women's 54kg final with a dominant win over Zambia's Catherine Mwape. 

Mwape is no match for Preeti. The Indian takes the second round unanimously too. She wins 5-0, with a score of 10-8. Only the third round remains and Preeti has one foot in the final.

The first round begins on a cagey note. Preeti does succeed in landing a couple of jabs, but Mwape has remained guarded. Just a couple of shots are exchanged as the first round comes to an end. Preeti gets the first round. 

India's Preeti Pawar is set to take on Zambia's Catherine Mwape in her 54kg semifinal. Both boxers are already assured of a bronze medal. It's the final they have their sights set on.

As the current standings are in Men's Decathlon, Canada's Damian Warner leads the field overall with 5322 points, with Tejaswin in second place with 5261 points. The Indian is ahead of Sammy Ball of England on 5146 points, who is 115 points behind Shankar.

The Heat 2 ends on Men's Decathlon 110m Hurdles with Tejaswin Shankar securing the No. 2 spot. Brilliant from the Indian. He is a strong podium contender.

Heat 1 ends in Men's Decathlon 100m hurdles, with Grenada's Victor Lindon taking the No. spot.

Tejaswin Shankar did really well in the Decathlon events yesterday, despite facing knee trouble, to finish second overall. However, yesterday's events were his strengths; it's today's run of events where his true ranking will be decided. At present, he's only 14 points behind leader Damian Warner of Canada

Neeraj Chopra didn't look the most comfortable yesterday in the men's javelin qualifier. Wearing a warm cap, embracing the wind, Neeraj failed to cross the 80-meter mark in the event. He explained why after the end of play.

"It was really cold and windy, but the throw was okay, the 79m throw. The goal was to go in the final and give my best in the final, so I'm happy with the throw," he said after the qualifying round where he finished fifth. 

"Conditions are not best for javelin throwers. Not only cold, but it's really windy. The wind was also not in the front; sometimes it's from the side. It's really hard to process where we have to throw. Sometimes we think, 'Okay, we'll throw there', but then the wind comes from the other side. And lots of throwers are struggling today. Nobody touched the automatic qualification mark. It was tough conditions, but we are happy that all three Indians are in the final," Chopra added.
 

India's action on Day 9 will resume with Tejaswin Shankar, who will participate in Men's Decathlon 110m Hurdles. He has been placed in Heat 2.

Neeraj Chopra looks to end his eight-year wait for a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Neeraj, who missed the 2024 Games in Birmingham, qualified for the final of the Glasgow Games with a throw of 79.61 metres, securing fifth spot in the overall standings, ahead of defending champion Arshad Nadeem, who finished seventh. 

Indian weightlifter Lovepreet Singh clinches the silver medal in the men's 110 kg heavyweight category at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.The Indian lifter delivered a brilliant all-round performance and looked destined for the top step of the podium until a stunning final lift from New Zealand's David Andrew Liti turned the contest on its head.
