World junior champion Koneru Humpy won the fourth and fifth games in style to emerge clear leader with 4.5 points in the Third Saturday GM chess tournament, being played at Belgrade. Humpy, having bagged 4.5 point from five games, now needs four points from the remaining six rounds to get her second Grand Master norm, which she missed at Budapest last week, reports here said.In the fourth game Humpy, played a spectacular game, forcing her opponent Dragutin Sahovic (Yugoslavia), who committed couple of mistakes, to resign in the 27th move, while she won the fifth game, outplaying Mihajlo Stojanmovic (Yugoslavia) in 35 moves with a positional advantage in exchange of pieces.After fifth round, Humpy leads with 4.5 points followed by a joint second with 3 points each by Martinez Lopez (Spain), Goran Kosanovic and Pavle Orlov (both Yugoslavia).Playing blacks in the fourth game, Humpy employed Queens Indian Defence and the game went on normal lines until Humpy played a novel c-5 in the 11th baffling her opponent Dragutin who played a doubtful Qb3 and the 14-year old Andhra girl gained supremacy with Nd5 in the 21st to start a combination.Dragutin blundered by playing Rd2 in the 26th and after realising had resigned giving Humpy third win of the meet. Playing whites in the fifth, Humpy opted Reti opeining aginst Stojanovic, who gave up his Queen for a rook, bishop and a pawn.Humpy accepted the exchange as the material was equal and she also enjoyed more freedom in movement of pieces than her opponent and obtained a pawn on the Queen side.When she threatened to queen the pawn, black gave up the exchange and lost the game in 35 moves.
