"The fans in Jharkhand can see Dhoni in T20 matches for the first time in Ranchi," Manoj Kumar, a JSCA official, said.
Dhoni, who played an ODI here against England earlier this year, did not play a T20 as CSK were not scheduled to play in Ranchi during this year's IPL.
Dhoni will stay in Ranchi till the completion of Champions League matches of CSK. They are slated to play against Titans on September 22 in their first match.
The Team India and Chennai Super Kings skipper also took time out to visit the Birsa Munda stadium in his hometown to attend a local football tournament. He signed autographs and gave important tips to the kids. Much to the delight of all present, he even tried his hand at some archery.
