National kick-boxer alleges she is being forced into prostitution by family

Ram Bhateri, a kick-boxing national champion from Haryana, has alleged that she has been sexually assaulted and forced into prostitution by her parents and family.

The minor alleged that her family has been sexually assaulting for the last four years and threatened to kill her when she refused to give in to their demands. She also claimed that her family used to beat if she protested against the harassment.

On May 27, she reportedly left her home and ran away to Revadi where her maternal aunt Jagdamba lives.

Her aunt took her to the District Child Welfare Officer and also informed the police. A detailed investigation has been ordered.

She is expected to give her statement in front of the District Magistrate today.
