They will be on the same side of the court probably for the first time while representing India and teen sensation P V Sindhu says playing alongside Saina Nehwal will strengthen the team, which is set to compete in the upcoming Li-Ning BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals here.
"It is going to be our strength. If Saina can take the first single and me the second single, then that would be good thing for the whole team," Sindhu said during a media interaction here on Monday.
In the Uber Cup, India have been clubbed with Thailand, Canada and Hong Kong, and Sindhu said of the three teams, the Southeast Asian side could be "tricky".
"I think in our group, Thailand is a bit tricky," said Sindhu on the upcoming event, to be held here at the Siri Fort Sports Complex from May 18 to 25.
"While Saina would be facing world no. 4 Ratchanok Intanon, I will be playing against Porntip (Buranaprasertsuk, who is ranked No. 9 in the world). She is playing really well and I think for the last 4-5 months I have not played against her. She will be one key player," she added.
World No. 11 Sindhu expressed confidence that both Saina and she would come out with flying colours in both the singles.
"We will be playing three singles and two doubles. Saina will play the first single and I will play the second. Even in doubles we are good with Jwala (Gutta) and Ashwini (Ponnappa). There are good matches and I wish we play well. Chances wise it is really good. We can do it.
"The draw is also good and hopefully, we can do well," insisted the 19-year-old.
The shuttler from Hyderabad said that team event was a different ball game, where a player has to think beyond his/her own match.
"Each and every match is really very important. It is not like only my match is important for me but even Saina should play well and that is important for me. Even doubles players must play well," Sindhu explained.
