Asian Games | India Opens Campaign With Shooting Silver, High Performance Manager Hails Team
India opened its Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games campaign with a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle team event. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod scored 1898.0 points, finishing behind China’s world-record 1904.2. Japan won bronze with 1897.1. High Performance Manager Ronak Pandit called it a high-scoring contest and said India came close to China. He highlighted simulation training, saying the Asian Games field is even more difficult than the Olympics, and praised the shooters for overcoming logistical challenges to win India’s first medal.
