Highlights on day nine at the Asian Games on Sunday:
GOLD RESTORED TO BAHRAIN'S JEBET
Bahrain's Kenya-born runner Ruth Jebet was reinstated as the women's 3,000m steeplechase champion after she had been disqualified on Saturday for stepping inside the track just as she was about to climb the podium. Jebet said Bahrain's monarch, King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, had called her to promise that the title would be restored.
QATAR'S OGUNDE SETS NEW ASIAN RECORD IN 100m
Qatar's Nigeria-born Femi Ogunode became the fastest man of the Games when he won the 100m gold medal in a new continental record time of 9.93 seconds despite wet conditions in Incheon. But hopes of an Asia-born athlete finally breaking the 10-second barrier sank when Chinese Su Bingtan finished at 10.10s and team-mate Zhang Peimeng was timed at 10.18.
NO RESPITE FOR LEE FROM LIN DAN
Chinese great Lin Dan extended his hold over Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei with a semi-final win in three games, as Wang Yihan avenged her Olympic defeat by beating Li Xuerui for the women's gold medal.
SOUTH KOREA BEAT JAPAN IN FOOTBALL
Hosts South Korea overcame fierce rivals Japan 1-0 in a feisty quarter-final after captain Jang Hyun-Soo coverted a penalty two minutes from the end. Victory over Thailand in the next game could see the South thrown into a final with North Korea, who beat the United Arab Emirates through an injury-time goal by Jong In-Gwan.
TAIWAN'S PAN WINS GOLF
US-based Pan Cheng-Tsung of Taiwan warded off a strong challenge from Kim Nam-Hun of South Korea to win the men's golf title, finishing two shots ahead at 17-under 271. Park Gyl-Ol of South Korea won the women's gold medal just one shot ahead of Budsabakorn Sukapan of Thailand at 19-under par 269.
