India's quest for a first ICC title in 11 years will kick-start from June 1 as the T20 World Cup 2024 will begin in the United States and West Indies. For the showpiece event, BCCI unveiled India's jersey on Monday. The jersey has seen quite a change from the one that the Rohit Sharma-led side wore at the 2023 ODI World Cup. This time the blue and orange hues are quite prominent. However, this new jersey has started a meme-fest on internet too with quiote a few fans getting reminded of famous comedy show, Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma'.
As soon the jersey was launched, the fans took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared some clips from the show, where the characters were seen wearing almost a similar outfit.
This led to a hilarious meme fest on social media as the fans shared a lot of jokes and videos about the jersey.
According to Adidas' official site, the price of the jersey is Rs 5999 for regular size. Interestingly, at lesser price one can go from Delhi to Goa this month. Several prominent travel booking sites showed the price of Delhi-Goa tickets to be below Rs 5500 in the next one month.
Sportswear brand Adidas took to social media to provide a sneak peek into the official jersey and the video featured Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma along with his teammates - Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.
Rohit Sharma and his men will wear the jersey as they aim to break India's drought at ICC events.
India last won an ICC Trophy in 2013 when MS Dhoni was still the captain. Since then, India have come close but failed to win the ODI World Cup, the T20 World Cup, the Champions Trophy and the World Test Championship.
