India should be able to handle general elections and an IPL: Shah Rukh Khan to NDTV

Kolkata Knight Riders' team owner Shah Rukh Khan feels India should be able to handle an Indian Premier League and a general election. The IPL is all set to move to an overseas venue after the Union Home ministry declined to provide security since the T20 tournament is likely to clash with the Lok Sabha elections in May-June. The IPL may move to either South Africa or United Arab Emirates but the Bollywood star feels there is no venue better than KKR's home ground – the Eden Gardens. Most IPL team owners are against moving the tournament out of India as they could suffer massive financial loses. The IPL was played in South Africa in 2009 when the tournament clashed with the elections.
