Govt assures China of safe Torch relay
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has extracted assurances from all the Olympic Torch bearers that they will not pull out of the relay like football captain Baichung Bhutia. The government has again assured China that the Olympic Torch will make a safe journey through India. There are fears that the relay could be threatened by Tibetan exiles who have called for a world wide boycott of the Beijing Olympics.
