Amla, Du Plessis Showed No Demons in Nagpur Pitch: Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar once again defended the Nagpur pitch after India won the third Test against South Africa inside three days. The NDTV expert pointed out that Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis, who produced a defiant 72 runs for the fifth wicket, proved that technique and determination were good enough to bat on the Jamtha pitch, which has been slammed by many as under-prepared. Gavaskar had praise for Ravichandran Ashwin, whose match haul of 12 for 98 turned the match India's way.
