Indian paddler Bhavinaben Patel qualified for the semi-finals of women's table tennis event at the Tokyo Paralympics with a straight games win over Borislava Peric of Serbia. She had qualified for the quarterfinals with an easy win over Joyce de Oliviera. Earlier in the day, Indian powerlifter Jaideep Deswal failed to register a single legitimate lift in men's -65kg final at the Tokyo Paralympics while Sakina Khatun finished a creditable fifth in the women's -50kg category on Friday. The 32-year-old Khatun lifted 90kg in her first attempt. She went for 93kg in her second attempt but failed. She managed to lift 93kg in her third try. In men's archery, Rakesh Kumar finished third in compound ranking round while Vivek Chikara secured 10th spot in recurve event.
