After being put into bat under testing conditions, Ireland lost Andy Balbirnie and Lorcan Tucker in the first over. In no time, Ireland were reduced to 31-5, as Paul Stirling, Harry Tector and George Dockrell perished trying to take on the bowlers. Ireland soon lost their sixth in the form of Mark Adair and what followed was an impressive rescue act. Curtis Campher and Barry McCarthy got together and produced a counter-attacking display of batting to resurrect the Irish innings.
