SunRisers Hyderabad crashed to their third consecutive defeat of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, losing by 13 runs vs Mumbai Indians in Match 9, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday. Chasing a target of 151 runs, SRH were bowled out for 137 runs in 19.4 overs. Captain David Warner gave his side a good start to the chase with his opening partner Jonny Bairstow. Warner scored 36 runs off 34 balls, and Bairstow smashed 43 off 22 deliveries. But with the departure of their openers, SRH lost their stability and the tide turned towards MI's side. Vijay Shankar (28 off 25 balls) was the other noteworthy batsman but couldn't seal a win, getting dismissed in the 19th over. Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult were the star bowlers for Mumbai, taking three wickets each. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya registered a dismissal each. Earlier, MI wrapped up their innings at 150 for five in 20 overs. Openers Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma scored 40 and 32 runs respectively. Other than the opening duo, Kieron Pollard gave his side a good finish, with an unbeaten knock of 35 runs in 22 balls. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Vijay Shankar took two wickets each for SRH, and Khaleel Ahmed registered a dismissal.
