Virat Kohli played a very uncharacteristically sedate innings. Till he reached the 30s, he was batting at a strike rate hovering around 100. In the 17th over, Kohli hit two consecutive sixes to give the home crowd exactly what they had been waiting for. Soon though, he perished in an attempt to hit another maximum.

RCB got off to a rollicking start when Shikhar Dhawan was out for a first-ball duck. Navdeep Saini, who also had a good day with the ball, was the man who pouched the catch.

Prithvi Shaw looked good at the top of the order but it was all Shreyas Iyer for Delhi Capitals in their chase. He put up crucial partnerships with the middle order, finishing with a 50-ball 67.

There was some excitement right at the death as RCB bowlers brought their team back into the game with some quick wickets, as three wickets fell for 2 runs. For all their last-minute efforts though, Delhi Capitals won with seven balls to spare.
