Earlier, India put in a brilliant batting performance to declare at 303 for nine, courtesy of half-centuries from Rishabh Pant (50) and Shreyas Iyer (67). Meanwhile, Praveen Jayawickrama took four wickets for Sri Lanka and Lasith Embuldeniya bagged three. Earlier, a five-for by Jasprit Bumrah helped India bowl out Sri Lanka for 109 on Day 2 and took a lead of 143 runs. Angelo Mathews top-scored for the visitors with a knock of 43 runs, in a performance where the team's other batters failed. The five-for was also Bumrah's first-ever in India. Meanwhile, R Ashwin and Mohammed Shami took two wickets each. Earlier, India were bowled out for 252, with Shreyas Iyer narrowly missing out on a ton. The batter smashed 92 runs off 98 balls, also hammering 10 fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Lasith Embuldeniya, Praveen Jayawickrama took three wickets each for the visiting bowling department.
