However, Colin Munro and Kane Williamson shared a 74-run stand for the second wicket and put New Zealand on course for a big total.
Zoom
Munro, in particular, was aggressive and he was on course to register a fifty.

With the Munro-Williamson partnership going strong, New Zealand aimed at a score near 170-180.
Zoom
However, Moeen Ali broke the partnership when he had Williamson caught for 32 as England fought back.
Zoom
Munro missed out on a fifty and New Zealand needed Corey Anderson and Ross Taylor to fire.

However, Ben Stokes and Chris Jordan bowled splendidly at the death to restrict New Zealand's progress.
Zoom
Stokes, in particular, was superb as he picked up three wickets to emerge with figures of 3/26.
Zoom
England gave away just 20 runs in the last four overs as New Zealand were restricted to 153/8.

Chasing 154, Jason Roy and Alex Hales got England off to a breezy start
Zoom
Roy, in particular, carted the New Zealand bowling to all parts of the Kotla to register his maiden fifty.
Zoom
Ish Sodhi gave New Zealand a chance when he picked up two quick wickets. He bowled Roy for 78 and dismissed Eoin Morgan for 0.
Zoom
This was Morgan's second golden duck at the Kotla, having fallen for a first-ball duck against Afghanistan.

However, Joe Root and Jos Buttler ensured there were no hiccups as they thrashed New Zealand by seven wickets to sail into the final of the World T20 in Kolkata.
