World T20: Hashim Amla Fifty Gives South Africa Easy Win Over Sri Lanka

Hashim Amla notched up his fifth fifty as South Africa ended their World T20 on a high by defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets.

However, Aaron Phangiso struck twice by removing Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne in quick succession as Sri Lanka stuttered.

Phangiso's double-strike gave South Africa the opening and they choked Sri Lanka.

South Africa's wonderful bowling helped restrict Sri Lanka to 120 all out. It was the first time in this tournament that a team batting first was bowled out.

Chasing 121, South Africa lost Quinton de Kock cheaply but Hashim Amla stood firm.

Amla was aided by Faf du Plessis as the duo shared a 60-run partnership.

However, du Plessis got a wrong decision as he was dismissed for 31. South Africa were comfortably placed.

Amla notched up his fifth fifty and he became the fourth South African batsman to go past 1000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals.

AB de Villiers sealed the game with a six as South Africa won the match by eight wickets to end their Twenty20 World Cup on a high.
