ICC Women's World Cup, Pakistan vs South Africa Highlights: South Africa Beat Pakistan By 6 Runs In Thriller

Now the Pakistan batters have not been at their best so far in the tournament but they need to fire here. The wicket is a decent one to bat on but South Africa have a lot of quality in their bowlers. Can this be chased down? To find out, do join us in a short while for the second essay.

Pakistan were excellent for most parts of this innings. They got early wickets courtesy Sana and even when there was a partnership building they did not let South Africa score freely. They even managed to come back into the game thanks to a magical spell of Ghulam Fatima but the fielding let them down then after, a couple of catches went down and had those been taken, they could have well kept the opposition under 200. They though have ended well coutresy Sana yet agian who was the pick and probably have momentum on their side.

Batting was not easy for South Africa. The new ball swung and they lost two quickly. Laura Wolvaardt along with Sune Luus played brilliantly. They took their own time but got their side to safer shores. Once Laura Wolvaardt fell though, there was a mini collapse. Chloe Tryon and Sune Luus then played really well and added 55 to bail their side out of a tricky position. Trisha Chetty too played a handy cameo towards the end to take her side over the 220-run mark.

A very good recovery from South Africa and they have got themselves to a total which is more than competitive. Pretty sure they would have taken something above 220 when they were 120 for 5. Pakistan on the other hand, have yet again failed to capitalize after being in a good position. They have no one but themselves to be blamed as they created chances but did not take it. They now face a stiff task ahead as this is not going to be easy to chase.

OUT! TIMBER! Fatima Sana picks her up third wicket and ends the innings on a high for Pakistan Women. It is yorker, right in the blockhole. Trisha Chetty tries to dig it out but misses. The ball goes through to rattle the stumps. South Africa Women end their innings at 223/9.

OUT! RUN OUT! South Africa Women lose their eighth wicket. A length ball, on middle and leg. Shabnim Ismail tucks it to mid-wicket and takes off for a single. The fielder has a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. There is an overthrow and the batters opt to run one more. Although, Sidra Ameen does well with the back up and throws the ball to the keeper who clips the bails off to see Shabnim Ismail short of the crease. Masabata Klaas is the new batter in.

Full length, on off. Chetty drills it to long on for one.

Overthrow! A length ball, outside off. Chetty slashes it to point and takes off for a quick single. The fielder misses her attempt at the non-striker's end, but there is no back up as well. This allows the batters to take one more.

A dot to start the final over! Slower one, full length, just outside off. Trisha Chetty looks to heave it away but misses.

Full and on off. Ismail pushes it to cover. 8 runs off it. Can South Africa Women end on a high?

Fuller, on middle. Trisha Chetty comes down the track but this time hits it a little hard towards long on. They only get a single this time.

Full and on the pads. Trisha Chetty eases it to mid on. The fielder is placed in the deep and hence the batters push hard and take two with ease.

FOUR! Gets lucky enough to see the ball scoop past her stumps. Tossed up, around middle and leg. Trisha Chetty premeditates a reverse-sweep and works it past the keeper for a boundary at third man.

Floated and on the pads. Ismail flicks it to square leg for a quick single.

Short and outside off. Shabnim Ismail cuts it hard to cover but staright to the fielder.
